XBOX CEO Asha Sharma on acquiring Activision:
"it was bought at a time when our strategy was predominantly on the core console... these are incredible assets, and we continue to invest in them'
@darekgusto@charlieINTEL@stephentotilo Given their market share, besides smaller games similar in size and scope to "indie games", I can't see how it would be feasible for Xbox to make AAA-exclusives, especially not Console-Only, without forfeiting way more revenue than having COD Day-1 on Game Pass...
@charlieINTEL Microsoft paid $69 billion for Activision specifically to put Call of Duty on Game Pass Day One
now it won't be on Game Pass Day One
Battlefield 6 is eating good right now
@charlieINTEL So Activision
- increased GP price because of cod
- Acquired Activision because of Cod on game pass
I don't know which one is more stupid but I guess I won't be touching MW4
@charlieINTEL So what’s the point now? Ultimate used to mean day-one releases for triple-A games. Now, with just one franchise not getting a day-one release, what’s stopping them from doing this to every triple-A game they own? Halo, Doom ect.
@charlieINTEL During the year they’re dropping the worst CoD we’ve ever seen, Modern Warfare 4.
Can’t wait for GTA VI to put this franchise in the dirt.
@asha_shar You took away Day One Call of Duty titles for a 'price drop'.
That's essentially a downgrade.
Smart players won't fall for that trap while you 'keep learning'.
@asha_shar@astaranx Game Pass Ultimate price before a new COD game launched day 1: $16.99
Price when first new COD game launched: $19.99
Price when second new COD game launched: $29.99
Price with 0 new COD game launches: $22.99 lol another L
@asha_shar What about people like myself who has already Pre-Paid their Game Pass Ultimate subscription based on Microsoft assurances that this would include access to the latest COD?!?
