Those extra picks allowed him to build more draft capital, trade for players like CMC, and overcome busts like Lance, etc.

@ErikLambert1 I cant help but think the Bears got clipped 2 times by Ian Cunningham, who likely would have some similar lets say “draft crushes” and a good feel for the Bears board. Z Branch and A Thompson seemed like perfect fits for Bears.

@ErikLambert1 Love the player, and I know they want more picks, but I doubt someone like Young, Parker, or Jacas will be available at 57. Id be looking to move up for one of those guys…then its a homerun haul IMO.

@FatDudeRunning @ErikLambert1 Its not just the player in a vacuum. Its the players you could take instead of him vs him. Your choice of alternatives should be much better at 10 than at 25, thus it may not be worth the risk to take an outlier like Bain that early.

@ErikLambert1 Never for 1 second did I believe that his “my shoes are bothering me” reason for pulling out of the combine right before the workouts. That said, I feel bad for him. Terrible timing for this to happen again.

@roynagle53 @sheanorling Because they drafted their center of the future last yr. Its Jared Wilson, the first C taken in last yr draft. He played G his rookie year with Bradbury being on the roster already. Now Wilson will move back to his natural C position.
