Multi-modal (controller, hands, voice) mixed reality train track builder prototype.
That's my buzzwords allotment for the day. Going to power down now...
I've returned to this husk of a social media empire to do one thing: share the first video preview of Tactician, the turn-based games engine.

@CixLiv @TimChaffee You could be right! On the other hand, if you say maps and chat are AR, then it begs the question as to why wearing a headset or glasses makes that better. It’s an uphill battle against ingrained habits, ergonomics, and social cues. Better to avoid entirely
@TimChaffee @CixLiv Don’t tell anyone, but Pokémon GO is not an AR game, it’s a location services game. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been burned because people didn’t understand the distinction.
@CixLiv Nah. If I’m using a map and GPS, is that AR? If I’m connected to Wi-Fi on a plane and chatting, is that AR?
Location and communication services help our daily lives, true. But I think including them in the AR spectrum is overly broad. My 0.02
I'm excited to try @warpdotdev, but this word wrap technique is scrambling my brain. Splitting words at the EOL adds cognitive load and makes it harder to read.
@thedanrosas@benz145 Hey Dan! 🤙 There really is some interesting stuff brewing on Snap. Highly suggest getting in contact with @CreationsDb : even a 30 minute chat would reveal a lot!
@benz145 Yes! This is a very difficult design space that too few people are thinking about. But this is one of them that does: https://t.co/FbH7Qd1BPP
(Also: tracking moving furniture in real-time is beyond the capabilities of all known devices AFAIK)
@BartronPolygon Yeah. That was my first thought, too. The conditional part is covered by the warning, but it even says “cursor target is not null here” 🤷
@BartronPolygon I do. I actually like the nullable check, actually. But sometimes it gives me heartburn. :) I suppressed the warning in the project file to get around it.
@BartronPolygon _cursorTarget is a member variable, and OnHover is a private method with the proper parameters. Oddly, I don’t get warnings during OnEnable, when I assign those methods to the Action.
I can't stop thinking about AR filters for the front of the #VisionPro . Googly eyes. Perpetual confusion face. A snorkel mask with a bit of liquid in it. Those water-squirt ring-toss games. This could be a field day for #Snapchat#AR creators!
