I guess we'll find out shortly whether it was true when the UK government said that without a treaty surrendering the Chagos to Mauritius the position of the US base would become unviable within weeks, or whether that was utter, utter garbage.
Starmer has hit on a new technique: perform so badly & be so hated nationally that your cabinet cannot even depose you because it would trigger a general election in which they would all lose their seats.
If Rachel Reeves raises income tax, national insurance or VAT - breaking her election promise - she must resign; and Starmer must call a General Election, on the basis of Labour’s huge “breach of contract” with the electorate
People are not calling out enough how deluded AI tech folk are about reality.
We are not going to be reading your AI made books, nor movies, nor songs.
Your AI code is likely to move the problems elsewhere.
Yes , AI is a profound new general technology that will continue to change the world as it has done for years. Automation alone is massive as are advanced robotics.
But the NPD , the hype, the predictions are utterly delusional.
The security risk are absolutely vast. The legal issues are massive. Even a leap like cloud is still a very slow process despite the gains being obvious and the threats slight
Meanwhile the peddlers of the dilation either look like morons or stock pumpers. And we all have a duty to call this out not suffer from self doubt and anxiety
Leadbeater, since coming high enough in the ballot to introduce assisted suicide / euthanasia:
The High Court is key, it makes this the strongest system in the world
Also Leadbeater:
We’re dropping the High Court part, this in no way changes anything

“Abraham Lincoln once asked an audience how many legs a dog has if you count the tail as a leg. When they answered ‘five,’ Lincoln told them that the answer was four. The fact that you called the tail a leg did not make it a leg.”
— Thomas Sowell
Devoid of ideas to stimulate growth this @UKLabour Government is asking regulators for their thoughts. Regulators!!That is after their budget that has killed all prospects of growth which Government said was their priority… you couldn’t make it up…
@AgnesChambre@AndrewMarr9@LBC There'll be a contract between the BBC and Banijay with substantial penalties for failing to broadcast, with only very limited exclusions (which this won't cover). Plus - the aspiring young chefs failing to get the career changing exposure they'd presumably hoped for.
Keep in mind some MPs said they voted for this private members bill to "keep the conversation going". Whatever your view of that approach (and I have some firmly held ones), there is still an opportunity here to meet, write letters, whatever one can to change minds.
@easyJet You don't have any staff here. You must have a large number of passengers who can't reach the North Terminal because they're stuck at South. Will you hold flights?
