Just come back to Twitter after an extracurricular interlude and spotted this in my timeline. Pretty much sums up what I'd have tweeted https://t.co/2NEoinmIHB
@writerstoolbelt @aptshadow Similarly did @JRHwords in Ep 91, giving great advice on not talking too much about your protagonist's pain, which I'm definitely guilty of!
@writerstoolbelt In Ep 93 @aptshadow touched on it: (paraphrased) It's 1 reason modern fantasy has a lot of humour in it; it takes the edge off that darkness
@writerstoolbelt Perhaps not. I'd be curious to see a formula, if so, or learn of markers to spot when something is imbalanced. Is this topic episode-worthy?
@writerstoolbelt Between sad/happy, tense/light, dark/humorous, brutal/pleasant. I'm sure common sense plays a role here but maybe that balance is objective?
This is jam-packed with good stuff: 2 very different approaches to writing, both with productive outcomes, & insights into the #writerslife https://t.co/xTyyXnuFPg
@mariebilodeau Sounds like some dangerous distraction right there. I struggle just ignoring sparrows in the privets!
I'd have had to close the curtains ...
