@jeffspross That assumption has frequently been proven to be true though? I grant that it's not true in every case, but it's not some made up thing. Perhaps we are talking past each other.
@Jesse_Livermore I think this is true, but also covariant with the probability that she doesn’t want that kind of attention becuase she works for Elon.
@ZaidJilani Bezos was making a mathematical point that even if you seized x% of the assets of the top 1000, it wouldn’t be that much money relative to the deficit and the cost of new social programs.
Platner is a politician so whatever it’s fair game to miscontrue but that’s the situation
@CliffordAsness Cliff, he’s getting rid of it for Kindergarteners. We didn’t have it until middle school when I was growing up. The world will be fine without kindergarten gifted programs imho
@ZaidJilani I think there’s also a wide gap between what it means in international law circles, and what it means in US public imagination (systematic extermination, ala Holocaust)
@RobertMSterling It’s honestly why I think Christianity is such a radical (in a good way) religion. It tells us to forgive even when something seems unforgivable, not only when it’s easy to forgive.
@PythiaR This all might be true until the next AI headline that sends the stock down some more and permanently impairs the long run multiple some more. Picking the entry point on these is so hard.
@junkbondinvest@LevFinor Can you just be explicit and say that their assets should be worth less than <7x or <5x ebitda or whatever? That's fine, but using the equity market selloff to justify marking down senior loans is just sleight of hand
@darren_learning@junkbondinvest I’m talking about private credit typically detaching value at most at 7x. So if the business can be sold for HSD, literally 0 impact to private credit.
