The 2025 Missouri 8-Man Football State Championship Game is set.
#4 Worth County (12-1) vs #1 Rock Port (13-0)
🗓️: Thursday, December 4th
⏰: 7:00PM
📍: Missouri Western State, Spratt Stadium
The Savannah Bananas are the best story in sports.
Owner Jesse Cole and his wife Emily went $1.8 million in debt to start the team, but they now have a broadcast deal with ESPN and will sell two million tickets this year.
That includes sold-out games in 18 MLB ballparks and four football stadiums: Tampa Bay, Clemson, Nashville, and Charlotte.
The Bananas accomplished this by only doing what's best for its fans.
Ticket prices start at $25, including food and drinks. The Bananas eliminated all in-stadium advertising. They built a secondary market ticket platform to keep resale costs down, and the team implemented a "pay your taxes" policy, meaning that a $30 t-shirt truly costs $30.
Despite receiving investment offers every day, Jesse and his wife still own 100% of the business — and now they are launching something even bigger.

-5 teams currently undefeated (Nixa, Platte County, Seneca, Fair Grove, Archie)
-ZERO games between two undefeated teams
-ZERO regular season rematches
-3 teams with 4 losses (North Shelby, Penney, Lamar)
-All of 5 Blair Oak's state titles have come in even-numbered years (04, 06, 18, 20, 22)
-Lamar has only failed to reach the Championship game twice since 2011 ('17, '18)
-Blair Oaks and Seneca are scoring an identical 51.4 pts/game
-Lowest pts/game allowed: Adrian (8.8)
-3 repeat mascots (Crusaders, Tigers, Eagles)
-6/14 schools wear white helmets
-Zero schools from Jackson County (Not a slight, just thought it was interesting/unusual. Don't DM me)
-Only 1 game features two teams with a common opponent from this season (North Shelby/Archie both played Bishop LeBlond)
That's all the nonsense noticing so far. I'm sure I'll add to it throughout the week.
