Up to this point, everything I originally set out to do for this app has been completed. It has been a super good experience, so I will keep going...

Today, the Count In Days app is approved in Google Play Store. Did not expect it to take so long, tbh, but glad it made it finally.

It took less than 2 days, and over the weekend too (submitted Sat and approved Mon).

Google play, however, is taking longer and still in review.

Posting TestFlight links publicly can get people to try it out and give feedback.

I posted the link for 4 days, and I got 70 people to try it out. I estimate about 60 came from https://t.co/N2nby4lSzT Definitely more than what I expected.

I feel Cursor performs better than Windsurf after using both to build my mobile app for a week.

- Cursor knows react native/expo better
- Cursor is faster in code generation
- Windsurf messed up my code and keep going for 10 minutes without fixing it

How is your experience?

@jens_stjernberg Yes, SQL is still very relevant today. All the major data warehouses and data lakes use SQL. So if you ever need to prepare datasets to fine tune AI models, SQL can be useful.

Also, many other databases, such as vector db (use for AI), time series db (use for IoT) also use SQL

To use AI for coding, focus on the functionality and stick with the most popular stacks that AI knows how to work with.

Some things may be "cool" but they will not "vibe".

Focus on results, not something "cool"

Tailwind is super popular for web, so why not use NativeWind for native app? I thought it would be cool but ended up wasting hours trying to get Cursor to work with it. Lesson learned, reverting all the code now.

3. Unclear Context

NativeWind only supports a subset of the class names in TailWind. Code snippet may look the same, but does Cursor know the difference? Asking Cursor to style a particular way has no effect. I have no interest digging into why at this point.

To learn something new, I always try to have a 20,000 foot view after getting my hands dirty a bit.

For Cursor and Windsurf, I skimmed their docs. Both are organized well, but Windsurf has a bunch of 2 min explainer videos that explain key features and show them in action. Nice!

To finish something in time, start with removing uncertainty so you don't get surprises.

I just found out both Apple and Google Play developer accounts for organizations require DUNS number and a website. Well, it won't be done in 10 days, but at least the ball is rolling.

One way to get ideas is from personal experience. When I was young, i wanted to celebrate when I am 10000 days old, but ended up forgetting it.

So I decided to build an app to track the number of days one has lived, and to find new milestones for celebration.
