Sweden is experiencing one of the hottest summers in decades. Take advantage of the sunny weather and head to one of the cities many beaches and have a Gothenburg-style picnic with fresh shrimps, aioli, great bread and a refreshing drink. Swedish summer at its best.

If you want to explore the Gothenburg archipelago the Island of Vinga is well worth a visit. The island is famous for its lighthouse and for being Gothenburg's most westerly point. You can also visit the iconic musician Evert Taube's childhood home. PS bring some fika with you!

Gothenburg provides endless resources to good bars and restaurants. If you haven’t already been to The Barn by Kungsportsplatsen where the specialty is burgers and drinks, you should go! And if you want a stunning view, then go to the rooftop terrace at Henriksberg.

We’ve been told that Marstrand is one of the most beautiful places on the west coast. Did you know they are also supposed to have an amazing elderflower sorbet? If you have a day to spend, we suggest it might be an option worthy of your time.

Whenever the weather is nice, Smittena badplats is to recommend. It’s close to Näset, which is one of the more popular spots during summer in Gothenburg. But Smittens Badplats is not as crowded as the more popular neighbor.
