Why do you think poverty and insecurity have persisted at this scale in Northern Nigeria? Almost every social problem you identify in Arewa today can be traced, in one way or another, to the collapse of education. Education is the reason most of us, just like our parents, are where we are today, and it remains the most transformative gift anyone can give another person.
Even the quality of our choices would change if we were sufficiently educated, from child spacing to electoral decisions. You are ashamed of becoming a bandit because you are educated, and you possess the skills to resist poverty because you are educated as well. A society that neglects education should not be surprised when poverty deepens, opportunities shrink, and insecurity finds fertile ground. That, tragically, has been the story of our region since 1960.
This applies even more to marriages these days. The idea that you have to advertise to the world that you are having the best marriage is itself a red flag. You can quietly enjoy your marriage, or buy your spouse the world, without inviting the entire internet to the performance.
This Would be Your Testimony 🔥
The things that were Impossible,
The things that Money can not buy,
Are the things he has done for me,
What my Mother can not do,
What my Father can not do,
He has done it again and again.
Amen 🙏
There was a bomb blast in Borno state, Nigeria yesterday evening Infact it’s exactly 24 hrs ago that the bomb blast happened.
Lives were lost. Scores were killed. 100s injured.
Do you know that the Nigerian Minister of Defence is in UK right now lining up to welcome Tinubu?
If we talk, we are told that we complain too much.
Anyone asking "where is your God?", this week may your God answer them, in Jesus name!

There is an injection called LENACAPAVIR.
You only take the injection once every 6months, which is twice a year. It gives you protection against HIV.
This amazing injection is now available in Nigeria for only 58,000 naira.
THIS DOES NOT REPLACE ABSTINENCE OR SAFE PRACTICES. (because even if you don’t get HIV, you can get more deadlier diseases like hepatitis B from unsafe practices).
But either way,
This injection is really good news.
Please share and help someone to see this.
I created an Action short film with AI.
My official Higgsfield contest entry! After losing her mother to cancer, a teenage girl turns grief into action. She infiltrates a high-security pharmaceutical facility to retrieve a life-saving cure, trains the next generation, and fights through intense action sequences to deliver hope.
Created entirely with AI - https://t.co/tBwvwsErv2, including visuals and original AI generated music.

I have read through the quotes and comments on this piece. Mostly, you have women arguing against my post: that if a lady wants to be loved in that way, then it follows that she should be obliged.
There’s a reason the majority of those arguing for performance are women. And the reason is this: women are naturally drawn to spectacle, especially spectacles that depict or project love.
Why do you think Cinderella, and most fairytale traditions generally, center women as their emotional nucleus? The grand gestures, the public declarations, the ballroom unveilings, the glass slippers held up before witnesses; these stories are not built on true love, they are built on witnessed love. Love that must be seen to be validated. Love that becomes real only when others behold it.
It is theatre.
And that theatrical instinct does not disappear with adulthood; it simply evolves. What was once the fantasy of a prince lifting a veil becomes the modern appetite for public displays—anniversary posts, staged surprises, curated affection designed not just for the partner, but for the watching world. The intimacy is no longer sufficient in itself; it must be externalized, projected, consumed.
And that projection is precisely where my argument sits.
The second counter I have seen is that performance of love is not the absence of love either. And while that sounds interesting, perhaps even intellectually clever on the surface, it is airheaded upon closer inspection. Love, as it is and will always be, ceases to be love the moment performance becomes necessary to sustain it.
Understand the distinction.
It is one thing for love to occasionally express itself outwardly. It is another thing entirely for outward expression to become its proof of existence. Once love requires staging, witnessing, validation, once it must be constantly demonstrated in the public square to reassure either party, what you are dealing with is no longer intimacy, but maintenance of image.
Love, in its purest form, is self-sufficient. It does not starve in private. It does not weaken without applause. It does not need an audience to breathe.
Performance, on the other hand, is audience-dependent. It feeds on reaction. It survives on visibility. And when people begin to conflate the two, they start mistaking emotional theatre for emotional depth.
You would expect this to be a basic distinction, that what is real does not need spectacle to legitimize it, especially on a day like Valentine’s Day, a public festival of performed affection. But unfortunately, many have been so conditioned by performative culture that they now distrust what is quietly beautiful. If it is not posted, it is not happening. If it is not displayed, it is not serious. If it is not witnessed, it is not valid.
The performance of love is not the presence of love. Love that must be cast in the open glare of the public, for the public to nod and say, yes, these two love each other, is not love. It is performance; an eyesore. This is performative as hell.
Atheist: Why didn’t God kill Adolf Hitler before he committed genocide?
Same Atheist: Why did God order the killing of the Amalekites? He is evil!
PS: The Amalekites were known for their violence and their mindless killing of the weak and vulnerable.
Do you want a God who judges the wicked or not?
Well, whether we like it or not, God is love but He is also a just judge.
And in the fullness of time He will judge the world. Just as He destroyed the Amalekites, He will justly judge sinners who refuse to be rescued from their sins.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus our Lord.
