It’s Day One, so I’m wearing my “Breonna Taylor” mask.
A few of my Republican colleagues have called me Breonna, assuming that’s my name.
It hurts. But I’m glad they’ll come to know her name & story because of my presence here.
Breonna must be central to our work in Congress.
Be careful not to seek what my father called negative or false peace, which is merely the absence of tension. Our goal should be positive or true peace, which includes the presence of justice. Please read this excerpt from his ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail.’
If a witness is testifying about a criminal boss to a grand jury, and a bunch of thugs burst in to try and disrupt the proceedings, you would conclude they are trying to intimidate the witness and the jury and prevent the truth from coming out. Just saying.
1) this would obvs never be a story about a man
2) this is not an expensive haircut/color for a public figure who is frequently on TV
3) if her hair was raggedy, that would be the lead story instead
4) 🙄🙄🙄🙄

If Trump is so sure mental illness drives people to kill people (and not hatred of "immigrant invaders" as Trump himself often says), then why would Trump have killed the Obama-era rule that added mental illness to the national background check database? Trump is lying. Again.
Emmett Till would be 78 today.
His mother, Mamie Till-Mobley,
ensured that the world saw how gruesomely her 14 year-old child was murdered.
Racism isn’t disagreement.
Families grieve. Communities mourn.
Dreams wither. Humanity suffers.
People perish.
Remember Emmett Till.
The Universe contains more electromagnetic vibrations — colors — than we will ever see, but they nonetheless permeate space & time, and occasionally, if we are open to them, our hearts.
POTUS tells @AprilDRyan he will not apologize for taking out a full page ad calling for the men known as the Central Park Five to get the death penalty. He says people on “both sides” confessed.
The men were exonerated via DNA evidence.
