However, securing inputs and keeping blending plants active and productive, is only the first step. The real test is last-mile and immediate access. Fertiliser must reach the farmers who need it, when they need it.
That is why, amongst other programmes, we launched the Renewed Hope Farm Input Support Programme (RH-FISP) through the National Agricultural Development Fund. Under this intervention, 515,720 bags of locally produced fertiliser are being distributed to 128,930 smallholder farmers across 25 states and the FCT for the current planting season.
The NADF, as part of this mandate, is also supporting modern agriculture through digital extension services, harmonised fertiliser application guidance, and targeted support for priority crops including rice, maize, cassava and soybean.

When we came into office, we made a promise to Nigerians that food security would be a major pillar of our Renewed Hope agenda.
We promised to support our farmers, strengthen local production, reduce dependence on imports, and build an agricultural system strong enough to withstand shocks from beyond our borders.
That promise is being kept.

As of May 2026, more than 449,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser inputs, equivalent to about 9 million bags, had been secured, with 10 vessels discharged or in transit. We remain on track to deliver a 1.1 million metric tonne fertiliser programme this year, equivalent to about 22 million bags. Despite the global shocks, strategic contracting for key inputs also generated β¦61.58 billion in savings in 2026 alone, helping to keep fertiliser more affordable for farmers.
Nigeria now has more than 90 operational fertiliser blending plants, the largest blending capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa. This capacity means jobs, local production, industrial growth, and greater resilience for our food system.

Our administration will not relent on its efforts to protect farmers, raise productivity, strengthen the agricultural value chain, support local industry, and ease pressure on food prices over time.
This is the meaning of promise made, promise kept.
We will continue to take practical steps to strengthen Nigerian agriculture and protect food security for every Nigerian.

Nigeria's National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System is officially scheduled to roll out its first phase in October 2026
The initiative represents a massive transition from Nigeria's legacy, purely numeric postcode system introduced back in 1986.
Core Features -
GIS-Enabled Precision: The new system uses Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping to link every single physical structure to precise map coordinates.
Universal Unique Codes: It assigns a unique, machine-readable alphanumeric code to every building in Nigeria, including properties located in rural communities.
Multi-Channel Access: Everyday citizens, logistics agents, and businesses will be able to retrieve and verify addresses via mobile applications and USSD channels.
Strategic Objectives -
Combating Insecurity & Fraud: The framework is designed to optimize policing, border control, financial crime investigations, and intelligence gathering.
Emergency Response Timelines: By eliminating vague, landmark-based navigation descriptions, the alphanumeric layout allows ambulances, fire services, and law enforcement to pinpoint exact crisis locations instantly.
E-Commerce & Logistics Savings: NIPOST estimates that difficulties with locating vague addresses cost the Nigerian economy between β¦50 billion and β¦80 billion annually in failed or missed deliveries. An AI-powered routing engine will be integrated to cut down delivery times.
It took us 30 years to get here. Kudos to the NIPOST team.
You won't see this from Governors of Katsina, zamfara or Yobe but their citizens are here shouting "Tinubu must go".
They would rather spend N2bn on mass weddings or fund hisbah police to look for people eating during fasting.
Dear Peter Obi,
I'm afraid I have to disagree with your assessment of why there are a large number of prisoners of Nigerian origin in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
This situation is not the result of a "systemic crisis", as you put it, or any failure of the Nigerian government, and the administration of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, as you indicated.
I have been to Ethiopia over fifty times, and if you fact-check me, I have publicly advocated for these prisoners long before their rescue by the Tinubu administration.
You, on the other hand, have NEVER advocated for them. Yet, instead of appreciating the Tinubu administration for rescuing our valued citizens imprisoned in Ethiopia, you are trying to blame the President for their plight, when most of these prisoners were convicted before Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu became President.
The overwhelming majority of them are in Kaliti Prison, Ethiopia, for drug-related offences.
Poor people do not buy narcotics and airline tickets for transatlantic flights.
This indicates that greed for money, rather than any failing of the Tinubu government or Nigerian society, as you implied, is responsible for their plight.
The Federal Republic of Somalia's economic and security situation is far below Nigeria's, and Somalia shares a border with Ethiopia.
If your postulation against Nigeria was correct, then Ethiopian prisons should be full of Somalians "in search of green pastures", to use your words. But that is not the case.
If you really cared about poverty, you would have built schools, but you failed to build a single nursery, primary, secondary school, or university during your eight-year tenure as Anambra Governor.
I would urge you, sir, to please refrain from politicising every issue in your desperation to become President.
If you cannot appreciate this noble gesture on the part of President Bola Tinubu and Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, then please do not complicate their as-yet unfinished work by imputing wrong motives to it.
Allow our brothers and sisters to return home without poking your nose where it does not belong.

DHQ PRESS RELEASE
TROOPS RESCUE WIFE OF FORMER DIRECTOR DEFENCE INFORMATION FROM BANDITS
Troops of the Nigerian Army with the support of the Nigerian Air Force have successfully rescued Mrs Amina Abubakar, wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar and former Director Defence Information, who was abducted by bandits alongside her husband a few weeks ago.
The rescue operation followed intensified search-and-rescue efforts conducted by troops of Operation FASAN YAMMA. During sustained offensive operations and pressure mounted on the criminal elements, troops made contact with the bandits at Tunga Village, leading to the successful recovery of Mrs Abubakar.
In the course of the encounter, the bandits shot Mrs Abubakar before abandoning her and fleeing due to the overwhelming pressure from advancing troops.
Mrs Abubakar was immediately evacuated and is currently receiving medical attention at a military hospital, where she is responding to treatment.
The leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain committed to ensuring her full recovery and is providing all necessary support to her family during this difficult period.
Troops will continue ongoing operations to track down and neutralise the perpetrators, while intensifying efforts to rid affected communities of terrorists not just in Katsina but in the entire nation.

I love the fact that Peter Obi left ADC. His obingos would have been thinking the federal high court order was because of him, that they donβt want him on the ballot.π€£π person wey tinubu want on ballot by all means.π
