If I were Yoruba I'd hate Tinubu with all my heart.
Man has indirectly had political control over the entire South West for over 30 years and has now been president for 4 years but asides from looting for self and friends, the region has benefited nothing from his existence. π

And the current minister of power can speak his language fluently o
"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."
- Nelson Mandela
That is true. I see it the way we light up when foreigners speak our local language. I see it in your reactions when I type in Yoruba. I see it when non-natives speak your language.
But that is simply about communication. You don't carry power and give somebody merely because of that as the expense of quality governance. The last Governor of Delta and the last CBN Governor are from my village and we speak same language. You don't see me celebrating or defending it. That we speak same language is irrelevant to me if your leadership has no positive impact in my life.
Sensible people do not put language bias above quality of life, because it is a sign of clinical insanity. You really think I would pick someone that speaks my language over a Yoruba or Hausa person that has my best interest at heart? Don't assume we are all foolish because you are.
Fantastic call by the assistant, correctly catching in real time that the player had entered the opposition half before the ball was played.
Really silly of the attacker not to be more careful with his run, he easily couldβve stayed onside and still had a near certain goal.
The root is deep and has so many branches, but let me pull out just two of them
While at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand and Anderson were once on the street when someone asked each of them:
"Who is the greatest player ever?"
Ferdinand said Diego Maradona
Anderson said Diego Maradona
Then it got to Cristiano Ronaldo
He said, Cristiano Ronaldo
How old was he then? Maybe 22 years
At that point, he hadn't achieved anything close to what would eventually define his career
Yet, he said it publicly.... not in private, but on camera. On record
You have to have an extraordinary level of confidence or what I call madness to say something like that at 22
Also, put in context the football hierarchy at the time
He was playing in England, but he was Portuguese
Portugal was just second class amongst football nations, their best ever era just ended in 2006 and their is no guarantee that they will even maintain their second class level
Which means, they could drop to third class if they are not careful
So, a young player from outside that traditional elite looking at the legends of the game and elites and confidently saying:
"I will surpass all of you. I will become the greatest"
That's not normal confidence, that's audacity and guts
Let me bring it into a life scenario
We all know that everybody is human, but society operates in hierarchies
There are established classes, established powers and people who have already occupied the top positions
Imagine someone from outside that elite standing in front of them and boldly declaring:
"I am going to overtake all of you. I will become the greatest among you"
They would look at him and think
"Who born you?" π
"Who is your father and where did you come from?"
If that is your ambition, most people will tell you to keep it to yourself
Don't announce it, don't tell the world, work quietly to achieve your dreams
Let your achievements eventually speak for you but Ronaldo was different
He didn't always understand that some thoughts are better kept private
To him, those words were probably just an expression of what he believed about himself
But to the world, words carry weight
For example, on September 14, 2011, while he was at Real Madrid
Ronaldo said:
"I think that because I am rich, handsome and a great player, people are envious of me
"I don't have any other explanation"
When that quote came out the following day, I remember thinking:
Whatever Ronaldo's eyes see, he should manage it because I knew immediately that trouble was coming
He later apologized for those words in 2014, but then, the damage to the public perception was already done
It was basically someone from the second class/third class bragging to be the greatest and the world wasn't having it
Who born you? π

City would have been declared guilty by virtue of being associated with Ronaldo.
Don't underestimate the number of retards disguised as football fans or experts on X.
Just look at how excited and cute she sounds about her boyfriendβs birthday. She has probably kept surprises and gifts for him somewhere. Every nonchalant woman will sleep and not wake up tomorrow morning.
