Meet the people behind the High Street. Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on our High Street, particularly with our independent and local businesses; so we at The Tees will be supporting campaigns and projects aimed to support them.
From @StocktonBID#Teesside#Stockton
This weekend Lynne Young opened her very own hat boutique in Redcar, 70 years after the last one on Redcar High Street closed down; but just weeks before opening she made an amazing discovery!

Grassroots culture & business are the soul of our towns and cities. They’re at risk. We need policies that prioritise the arts venue built with love and a bit of MDF or the street food business that trawled the streets for years before getting its 1st shop

Our vision for this project was to bring the Tees together.
We wanted be a place for ideas and inspiration, to champion the arts, music, books, local business and to raise awareness of local issues.
At the end of Day 3, we feel like we've made a start.

Can you help @TheMAIN_Project? They are looking for people, materials and funds to help them renovate the former North Ormesby Medical Centre. The charity provide short breaks (respite), training and support for families affected by disability #TheTees

"I'm not against blokes in suits becoming Mayors, but we don't only want blokes in suits. We do need someone to come in and mix it up a bit and Jessie in my view is a breath of fresh air. A people person. But a fighter as well and that's the important point here"
There are people across the Tees Valley finding themselves isolated because of the lack of bus services.
It's time we changed this!
So please sign the petition to support our campaign to bring back our buses.

I'm delighted to have the backing of @MayorofGM Andy Burnham. Speaking at my campaign launch for #TeesValleyMayor, he said: "Jessie has real care for the people here, not just thinking about building infrastructure and business investment, but thinking about the people..."
People in areas like Port Clarence are completely cut off because of the lack of bus services, they have to rely on a taxi to even get to a hospital! It's not right, and this needs to be changed because its not all about profit - public transport is about people.

Its shocking that communities across Teesside, Darlington & Hartlepool are not even served by a bus service! I want to radically improve the transport system across Teesside & Tees Valley, and I'm passionate about getting the services we deserve. #jessie4mayor#May2020
