Leafs fans who didn't initially like the John Chayka hire (and now like the hire) are the same fans who don't like the Jim Hiller hire (and will likely be good with it eventually). Knows the market, knows the stars, should help with the PP and puck possession. I like it.
@WatchMyReview Hatere just want to pile on and a portion of the fanbase thinks the Leafs should have hired Scotty Bowman circa 1978 and traded Woll for Makar.
Jim Hiller’s teams consistently ranked among the leagues elite in puck possession despite his best offensive player being Adrian Kempe and his 1C being a 35+ Kopitar, they lost in round 1 to: Connor McDavid, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon
I think we all need to relax here
The HNIC thing is tragic.
Sure, call me an old man.
But there was just something about Saturday night hockey on CBC.
It really wasn’t the game.
You could feel Canada collectively watching. As if for a brief moment you could agree on one common thing from coast to coast.
Just the good old hockey game.
Sportsnet might take the baton, but it’s soulless relative to the original. In part, it’s a byproduct of our level of connectedness. There was a certain weekly unity in a time when technology hadn’t yet given us everything we wanted, whenever we wanted it.
End of an era. One less thing that made us feel like one country on a Saturday night.
