As it turns out, the formula for being a high performer is incredibly simple and incredibly hard at the same time show up every day, do the hard work, bring your best, and expect the same from the people around you.
It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to be an athlete, founder, streamer, or comedian. The formula is the same. The difference is just the specialization.
That’s how you compete with startups 10x bigger than you or people with more resources than you.
And you hope the people you’re competing with slow down, get distracted, make excuses, or surround themselves with people who are incompetent
Most people aren’t built to operate this way consistently. That’s what separates good from excellent.
I love having both broke friends and rich friends.
During the week I’m locked in and hanging / talking with the rich friends.
But after working 12 hours a day Mon-Fri… do I really want to be masterminding with my rich friends over the weekend?
Not really.
I want to go to an Irish Pub with cheap pitchers.
Hear my boys complain about their parlays not hitting.
Retell the same stories over and over again we’ve been saying for years.
Watch some sports.
And not think about work at all.
$AAPL just bought a company that reads brain and muscle signals without touching your skin.
No press release. No price. It surfaced in an EU filing four months after it closed.
That's the tell. Apple doesn't buy products. It buys capability and then sits on it:
P.A. Semi (2008) → the A4 chip in 2010. Became all of Apple Silicon.
Siri (2010) → shipped the next year.
AuthenTec (2012) → Touch ID in 2013.
PrimeSense (2013) → Face ID in 2017.
Four years of silence before Face ID existed.
Everyone says Apple is losing the AI race. I'd push back. Apple has never moved on anyone else's timeline, and quiet has never meant idle here.
Being behind and taking your time look identical from the outside. You only find out which one it was years later.
And now a hardware engineer runs the company. Ternus is one week into the job. Worth watching what he does with a shelf full of sensors nobody knew Apple owned.
$AAPL ACQUIRES BRAIN-SENSING STARTUP SONERA
Apple has reportedly acquired California-based Sonera, which develops non-invasive magnetic sensors capable of detecting brain and muscle activity.
Unlike implant-based neural interfaces, Sonera’s technology is designed to measure magnetic signals through external sensors, potentially enabling applications such as thought-based device control, prosthetics, muscle monitoring and accessibility features.
Its S1 chip was built for muscle sensing and wearable use, which could make the technology relevant to future Apple Watch health features, Vision Pro controls and other assistive devices.
EU acquisition records indicate Apple completed the deal in May 2026. Apple and Sonera have not publicly announced the acquisition.

$UBER The opportunity in this stock isn't being talked about enough.
I usually don't give insider buys much credence. You never know someone's real reason for buying, and "executive buys own stock" is just a headline, not a thesis.
But the COO just put $5.3M of his own cash in and bookings grew 22% YoY, the fourth straight quarter above 20%. 208M monthly users is a moat a robotaxi fleet can't just build.
Skepticism intact. Eyebrows raised. NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE
$UBER President and COO Andrew Macdonald just bought 70,000 shares worth about $5.3M around $76.
Worth noting when one of the people closest to the business is putting that much personal capital to work.
