Atiku’s demand for EFCC and ICPC to investigate the alleged off-budget spending controversy is exactly the kind of opposition pressure Nigeria needs at this moment.
This is not about noise.
This is about public money.
When questions are raised about trillions of naira, no serious country should respond with silence, excuses or political insults. The right response should be simple: open the books, follow the money, and let independent institutions tell Nigerians what really happened.
That is why this matter is bigger than party politics.
If the spending was lawful, let the records show it.
If it was properly appropriated, let Nigerians see the approval trail.
If it involved statutory transfers, rollovers or multi-year capital commitments, let the explanation be clear enough for ordinary citizens to understand.
But if money moved outside proper oversight, then the country deserves a forensic investigation.
EFCC and ICPC cannot be loud only when the target is outside the ruling circle. Anti-corruption must not become a weapon used against political opponents while powerful people in government enjoy protection.
This is the real test.
Can our institutions investigate questions touching the sitting government with the same energy they use against others?
Can they follow the law without fear?
Can they reassure Nigerians that public finance is not being handled like private arrangement?
Atiku is asking the right question because accountability is not optional in a democracy. A government asking citizens to endure hardship, higher food prices, fuel pressure and painful reforms must also be ready to submit itself to scrutiny.
You cannot demand sacrifice from the poor and resist accountability at the top.
Nigeria needs answers.
Not propaganda.
Not technical confusion.
Not defensive press statements.
Not selective anti-corruption.
Let EFCC and ICPC investigate.
Let the National Assembly do proper oversight.
Let the Budget Office explain.
Let the Ministry of Finance clarify.
Let Nigerians see where their money went.
That is how trust is rebuilt.
Public money belongs to the people, and the people deserve full clarity.

Gbajabiamila’s controversy has entered the stage where Nigerians must stop waiting for a neat press release from the Villa before understanding what is really happening inside this government.
Those waiting for an official statement announcing his suspension do not understand how this regime works.
This is a government that rarely acts with clean transparency when the matter touches people close to power. They will deny. They will distract. They will send spokespersons to water down the issue. They will create confusion. But the real movement often happens quietly behind closed doors.
That is why Nigerians must pay attention.
When serious allegations touch the office of the Chief of Staff, the Presidency cannot treat it like ordinary social media noise. The Chief of Staff is not a small office. That office sits at the centre of power, access, coordination and presidential authority.
So when questions begin to surround that office, the country deserves answers.
Not arrogance.
Not coded statements.
Not damage control.
Not another Bayo Onanuga denial that raises more questions than it answers.
If Gbajabiamila has nothing to hide, then the Villa should open the records. Let Nigerians see the documents. Let them see the approvals. Let them see who authorised what, who signed what, and who benefited from what.
This is not too much to ask from a government that tells poor Nigerians to sacrifice every day.
The same people asking market women to endure hunger, workers to survive on weak salaries, students to manage hardship and families to accept suffering cannot suddenly become allergic to accountability when the scandal reaches Aso Rock.
That is the hypocrisy Nigerians are tired of.
This regime has mastered the art of managing outrage without solving the real problem. Once a scandal breaks, they look for who will speak, who will deny, who will confuse the public, and who will help them move the conversation away.
But Nigerians are no longer fools.
A government that truly respects citizens does not hide behind press statements. It submits itself to scrutiny.
If there is an allegation, investigate it.
If there is wrongdoing, punish it.
If there is no wrongdoing, prove it with evidence.
That is how responsible leadership works.
The issue is bigger than Gbaja. It is about the character of this administration. It is about whether Tinubu’s Presidency can look Nigerians in the face and say accountability begins from the top.
Because right now, everything looks like protection for the powerful and punishment for the poor.
The Villa may avoid a press release.
But it cannot avoid public judgment.
Nigerians are watching.
2027 is coming.
Data is brutal.
Atiku's proven leadership and trusted experience speak for themselves. Paired with Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria has a team with the experience, vision, and capacity to move the nation forward.
Tested leadership. Trusted experience. A better Nigeria is possible.
His excellency @AWTambuwal Earlier yesterday had the pleasure of receiving H.E. Rt. Hon. @ChibuikeAmaechi CON, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC and his team
A government’s true campaign poster is not the billboard on the roadside or the speech at a podium.
It is the reality of the people.
If citizens feel safer, if businesses can breathe, if young people see opportunity, if families can afford to live with dignity, then leadership speaks for itself.
But when hardship becomes normal, insecurity persists, and propaganda grows louder than performance, the people begin to ask the only question that matters:
What exactly has improved in our daily lives?
As Nigeria moves closer to 2027, the debate must rise above slogans and political theatre. It must be about competence, accountability, and measurable progress.
Because in the end, no amount of spin can permanently defeat lived reality.
