I wish the kind of enthusiasm government authorities and media show in anything related to people from cinema was also there for the regular citizens. We would have lived in a better society. That was an unfortunate incident and it was heart breaking. We should all learn from the disaster and be lot more careful here after and introduce measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again. 1. The Sandhya Theatre case is still in court. Chikkadpally police filed the chargesheet on 24.12.2025 naming 23 accused. The Nampally court has issued summons and the matter is at the committal stage. The trial has not begun.

On 17.08.2026 the court was told that police had not yet filed the CCTV CD and the CDR report.

2. In your post you said "the stampede which followed" and that a child was "permanently incapacitated."

Whether the stampede was caused by an actor's visit, and how serious and permanent the injury is, are exactly the questions the court has to decide on evidence.

When the head of the state police, who was Hyderabad CP when this case was registered, states these things publicly, it can be seen as influencing a pending case. The Contempt of Courts Act (Sec 2(c)) covers publications that tend to prejudice a court case, and the All India Services Conduct Rules (Rules 3, 7, 9) ask officers not to make such public statements. A safety message about Ganesh immersion did not need any mention of this case.
