1GW NORTHERN ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT
I had a productive meeting with the Honourable Minister of Power, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, to discuss the Sun Africa Power Project and the proposed 1GW Northern Electrification Project.
Following the Northern Governors’ approval for the formation of NNEC as the Northern Region’s renewable energy company, NNEC has now been registered and is the vehicle for the implementation of the project.
This initiative, financed by the US EXIM Bank with the support of the US Government, aims to deliver up to 1,000 MW of utility-scale solar generation capacity with 500MW BESS across participating Northern States and signifies a new and stronger relationship between Nigeria and the United States.
We reviewed progress on project structuring and governance frameworks designed to insulate the initiative from political interference, safeguard investments, and guarantee financing repayment throughout the project’s life.
A memo will be presented to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for approval before full implementation commences.
We are grateful to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his visionary leadership in driving this transformative initiative.
Together, we are building a brighter, more self-reliant Northern Nigeria through strategic renewable energy infrastructure.
@USAfricaCommand May Allah continue to guide and protect our security operatives and grant Nuhu Ribadu the strength, wisdom, and resilience needed to address Nigeria's security challenges. Ameen.
@KSHalilu Excellent vision and timely investment in Nigeria's future. Empowering young innovators through research, technology, and industry collaboration is the pathway to sustainable development and global competitiveness. Kudos to NASENI and all partners driving this initiative.
@instablog9ja This headline is misleading. At no point did Tuggar accuse President Tinubu of imposing an APC governorship candidate in Bauchi State. His concern was about the actions of some certain paperweigh APC leaders for not allowing democracy in the process
I have always been an advocate for serious and responsible leadership at the state level.
It is time for Bauchi State to embrace its own serious, forward-looking leadership.
As Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar @YusufTuggar steps forward in the Bauchi State gubernatorial race, it is clear that no one is better suited for the task. He has consistently demonstrated that excellence in public service is not only possible, but achievable.
In his role as a diplomat, we have witnessed a renewed clarity and strategic direction in Nigeria’s foreign policy engagement. His track record speaks to competence, vision, and results.
Ambassador Tuggar represents the kind of leadership Bauchi State needs at this critical time.
We stand firmly behind him.
We really underestimate how dangerous Peter Obi is. We take it for granted that this man was a huge failure in Anambra State:
- Zero Infrastructure
- The refuse he left in Anambra State still smells till today—and is what Soludo is still cleaning
- Zero savings
Nothing to write home about.
What is most shocking is that some Nigerians still follow him despite his confession that his Chief of Staff and most important adviser is a MAD Man!
Do you know how demented a man has to be for him to be able to communicate to mad people? And even be able to sit with them and have them communicate with him?
This is the kind of person some of our brothers want us to handover the affairs of this country to? NO WAY!
SECOND BASE JARE!!!!!!
Over the course of a two-day high-level Working Group engagement, I welcomed senior U.S. government officials and reaffirmed Nigeria’s appreciation for the strong partnership with the United States. These sustained engagements reflect a mature, trust-based relationship focused on protecting civilians, promoting religious freedom, and addressing shared security challenges.
@NuhuRibadu My sincere condolences on the passing of Hajja Mamma Sulaiman Ribadu. May Allah (SWT) forgive her and grant her Aljannat Firdaus. I also pray for your late mother of blessed memory. May Allah grant you and your family strength and patience.
Ours is a world that requires vigilance, and that vigilance is upheld by courageous men and women in uniform. They carry a burden of duty we may never fully grasp. Let us stand in gratitude as we honor those who provide the shield of freedom under which we sleep in peace and rise every morning with confidence.
