People are no longer fooled by the convenient "patriotism" being displayed by social media hacks. Let's be real. You only "care" about the anthem when it's convenient to express some kind of selective outrage similar to what you're doing now lol.

This is a summary of America's hypocrisy, especially right wing hypocrisy the last decade on this issue. An athlete does something as simple as kneel in a silent peaceful protest, or in this case stands completely still, and the "ultra-patriotic" people and right wing media/hacks in general create a controversy saying he or she is disrespecting the troops, country, blah blah blah.

An old white guy who dodged the draft mocks a veteran's service and has the nerve to say "I like guys who weren't captured" which spit in the face of every POW who went to war for this country and never came home. No one bats an eye, right wing media and the ultra-patriotic hacks of America suddenly lose their tongues and that old white guy became President of the United States, not once but twice, and that same old white guy as President screwed around when the anthem was being played during the Super Bowl and acted like a toddler when everyone else in that room stood at attention. No outrage whatsoever.

That tells America everything they need to know about this country's "patriotism". Fact of the matter is this country is full of shit when it comes to their selective outrage. Let any athlete or entertainer say some despicable garbage like "I like guys who weren't captured" and right wing America would become unhinged but since it's their cult leader, it's "ok". You can take your hypocrisy, selective outrage and fake patriotism and f'n choke on it.
