We’re engaged.
Through both the happy times and the difficult ones, we’ve shared so many moments together, supporting each other every step of the way.
Over time, we became irreplaceable parts of each other’s lives—someone neither of us could imagine life without.
We’re truly happy to finally be able to share this news with all of you.
As we begin this new chapter, we’ll continue to support each other and move forward together, one step at a time, while always staying true to who we are.
We hope you’ll continue to warmly support us and watch over us.

Ok but he's 1) critically mispronouncing the words 2) calling take aways mostly, usually foreign like Chinese or "Italian" chippers, you can hear the accents 3) Blurting it all out in one go. Manchán Magan did the same in No Béarla. Even fluent people need a moment to switch.
"Your opinion of yourself is more important than anyone else's opinion of you" is a lot more true than "no one else is even thinking about you" and probably more helpful too
People hear "scientists use AI to solve X" and they think it was some LLM superbrain solving the entire problem, and not some domain experts using their domain expertise to create a machine learning algorithm to do dimensionality reduction for one aspect of the problem
Israel didn’t just “fire on a car”, the Red Cross told them 5-year-old Hind was in that car. IDF gave permission to an ambulance to enter the area, then ambushed & bombed that ambulance, shot 355 bullets at Hind’s car, prevented anyone from reaching her body for 12 days & lied about it for 2 years saying “we never even had troops in that area” despite satellite images & audio recordings proving they were lying!
If you ask pro-capitalist people why a job like, say, sanitation work has such an abysmal wage even though the job is necessary, they’ll tell you that it is an unskilled occupation. We could contest that, but for the sake of argument, let’s concede. By this logic, value is derived from how much labor is required to accomplish something—in this case, the labor of learning the skill in addition to the labor of completing the task at hand. A doctor, then, would earn a much higher wage because of the labor required to obtain the necessary degrees to practice. Okay. But then, if you ask a pro-capitalist people again why the price of a pair of glasses, a mattress, or even a bottle of water is so expensive, despite these things being cheap and easy to make, they’ll tell you that value is not determined by the labor that goes into producing something, but by need and demand. This inconsistency reveals how neoliberal economics functions: the value of something means whatever is most convenient for the ruling class.
Columbia had students who said this was true arrested, expelled, and stripped of their degrees. They were falsely accused of antisemitism by the international press and government for speaking out. What will the consequence be for the perpetrators admitting it? Probably nothing.
When I got falsely arrested by the LAPD and hit with a $50,000 bail, PCC was there within 45 mins to bail me out. When my son died they donated $2,000 toward his funeral.
They have been there for so many activists in LA.
compelling writing style can smuggle in weak or even dangerous ideas. if you always agree with a writer, it can be worth asking whether you’re persuaded by the argument or by the pleasure of inhabiting their mind
i often think of how Didion called writing a hostile act, because the writer tries to ‘wrench around someone else’s mind’. style can make this wrenching invisible
