There have been multiple reports of pets being left trapped and at risk of dying after ICE abducted their owners. A woman in Texas used https://t.co/du9bv2U4pY to help rescue her neighbor’s dog when she and other neighbors could not access his apartment after he was taken.

PAXIS: If ICE takes someone and leaves their pets locked inside, do not wait for the ICE detainee locator. It may take hours or days for someone to appear, and an animal without water, medication or ventilation may not have that long.

If a trusted person has a key and prior permission to enter, get the pets to safety immediately. Photograph their condition and take their food, medication, veterinary information and proof of ownership, if available.

If nobody can legally enter, call local animal control. Explain that the owner was detained and animals are trapped inside. Request an urgent welfare check and lawful emergency access. Call 911 if a pet faces imminent danger.

If the pets enter a shelter, request a temporary protective hold, not surrender or adoption. Provide the owner’s information, any available proof of detention and a family contact. Then arrange temporary care through relatives, friends or a trusted rescue.

HELP: Dog walker was spotted in Brooklyn handling multiple dogs in what appeared to be an extremely rough and distressing manner. The individual was seen forcefully yanking on their leashes hard and violently, forcing the dogs up onto their hind legs in clear distress.

This is unacceptable animal abuse.

I need your help to identify this person immediately.

Please share this far and wide. If you belong to any Brooklyn neighborhood groups, dog owner pages, or local community groups, please post this video there as well.

- If you recognize any of the dogs, please contact their owners ASAP.

There are thousands of responsible dog walkers in NYC who truly love the animals they care for. These dogs deserve protection and compassionate care, not this kind abuse.

Fact: Snuggles has been locked up for nine months, nearly half his life.

Fact: The family has had to pay Pima County nearly $20,000 in boarding fees.

Fact: Snuggles has had only one biting incident and it occurred on his own property and involved a family member who desperately wants Snuggles to be returned.

Fact: At the time of the incident, Snuggles was agitated because of predators trying to intrude onto the property where he protected his animals. It was not simple aggression.

Fact: Snuggles is a livestock guardian dog, bred to be protective. He lives on a small ranch where he guards farm animals. He was doing his job.

Fact: Snuggles was an intact male at the time of the incident. Neutering Snuggles would almost certainly prevent any similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Fact: This is a great family. I know them personally now.

This dog and this family do not deserve to live through any more of this hell.
