4 people were shot on the side of the highway in Alexandria, Louisiana

8 people were shot and 3 are dead in Southport, North Carolina- mostly tourists

4 people were shot in a parking lot in Raleigh, North Carolina

10 people were shot and 1 was killed at a church in Grand Blanc, Michigan- including a child

4 people were shot and 1 was killed on Burboun St in New Orleans, one was a tourist visiting her sister

7 people were shot and 2 were killed at a Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas

On May 24, 2022 in Uvalde Texas, an 18 year old walked into Robb Elementary School and shot and killed 19 children and 2 adults.

Two days ago in Houston Texas, a man paused his dinner date to shoot and kill a fake parking attendant.

Last night in Cleveland Texas, 5 members of a family (including an 8 year old child) were shot and killed by their neighbor after they asked him to stop firing his gun on his front lawn so their baby could sleep.

So when Republican lawmakers in a state where it’s easier to get AR-15s than books about Black history say their abortion ban is about being “pro-life”…

I think everyone should have access to quality mental healthcare.

But we also need community support.

So I created the Legacy Members Club, a safe space for Black women.

We will have support groups, webinars, courses, guided meditations, workshops, etc for Black women who don’t have a therapist or just want a little extra support.

BREAKING: Governor Jay Inslee of Washington just signed a bill that will ban assault weapons sales in the state. The law, which passed the House 56-42 last week, also bans the distribution and manufacturing of these weapons.

There are over 4 dozen firearms on the list of banned guns. The ban also covers semiautomatic rifles that are fewer than 30 inches long. Additionally specific hand grips and thumbhole stocks are banned.

I believe this is a good first step, but a national ban in my opinion would work much better at deterring the use of these weapons.
