Shiquo Hii style reveals that the biggest problem she faces in business is her employees stealing from her. She said when calculating losses, profits, expenses, and miscellaneous costs, she has to factor in what employees and customers have stolen! And you wonder why most Burundians & our brothers from Rwanda have become the most preferred employees in many businesses owned by Kenyans.
She has a massive CCTV monitoring room where she employs people specifically to watch both her staff and customers. Her other employees don’t even know that room exists, and she doesn’t allow the CCTV monitors to interact with the other store & Warehouse employees!
She says many new employees willingly accept very low pay because they already know they’ll make up for it by stealing. She adds that your employees can collapse your business faster than KRA or the Corona pandemic if you’re not careful.
But why do Kenyans lack integrity? We blame politicians, yet we are no different. Given the opportunity, many of us would be even worse. Something is totally broken; either in our education system or in how we’re raising our children.
