Imagine waking up to a routine family day, only to walk straight into a calculated trap set by your own flesh and blood. Imagine spending 17 years rotting behind bars, wearing prison stripes, and branded a monster who defiled his own daughters aged 7 and 9. Now, imagine finding out that the entire nightmare was an engineered script.

A script designed to eliminate you permanently so that your family property could be stolen. This is the harrowing, real-life story of Daniel Wanyeki, a case that has entirely shaken Kiambu County and the nation. The nightmare began back in 2007.

Daniel Wanyeki was a hardworking family man who had invested in a prime 1.25-acre piece of land in Ruiru. Following a bitter domestic fallout, his ex-wife became consumed by greed and decided that the easiest way to seize absolute ownership of the property was to completely eliminate him from the picture.

In late 2007, she took their two young daughters, fully coached them, threatened them with severe punishment, and systematically brainwashed them into fabricating a horrific story of abuse against their father.When the case went to trial, the legal system listened to the terrified minors.

There was no medical forensic testing and no DNA evidence, just the weaponized testimonies of two small children under their mother's absolute grip. The court handed Wanyeki a life sentence, and he was escorted straight to Kamiti Maximum Security Prison.

With Daniel safely locked away behind bars, the ex-wife immediately took control of the prime Ruiru land. She subdivided the plot and sold it off to unsuspecting buyers, pocketing millions of shillings from the fraudulent sale.

Once she had successfully liquidated the asset and gotten her money, she completely abandoned the very children she claimed to protect. With the father in prison & the mother gone to enjoy the proceeds of the land, the two young girls were cast out of their own home and spent the remainder of their childhood and teenage years growing up in a children's home.

For 17 long years, spanning from 2007 all the way to late 2024, the sisters carried a suffocating weight of guilt, knowing that their innocent father was rotting in a maximum-security cell because of a lie they were forced to tell.

As grown adults, they could no longer live with the crushing burden and finally decided to break the silence. They stepped forward, approached the Kiambu High Court under Judge Dorah Chepkwony, and exposed the dark truth, revealing that their father never touched them and that their mother had forced them to lie solely to facilitate the land theft.

After reviewing the historic, emotional confessions of the daughters, the High Court quashed the original life sentence. Following final legal assessments by the office of the DPP, Daniel Wanyeki finally walked out of the prison gates a completely free man.

He went into prison in 2007 when his daughters were tiny children and walked out to find them as fully grown women. Seventeen years of prime youth were completely gone, yet in an unbelievable show of grace, Daniel embraced his daughters and publicly forgave them, recognizing that they were just innocent pawns in a wicked game played by an adult. WOMEN ARE VERY DANGEROUS CREATURES!!

DEFYING THE BULLETS AND THE BARRIERS: HOMABAY HAS SPOKEN!

Despite a well choreographed campaign of terror and violence, my tour of Homabay County was a resounding and historic success. The forces of darkness tried to stop us, but the power of the people triumphed, proving that our journey of liberation cannot and will not be halted by hired goons or state complicity.

The trouble began the moment our ferry docked at Mbita, where an organized group of goons targeted my motorcade, smashing my vehicle's windscreen and damaging several other fleet cars. They severely underestimated the people, however, as the public swiftly repulsed them, allowing us to hold two massive, electric rallies in Mbita Town and Rusinga Island. As we proceeded to Sindo in Suba South, the desperation of our detractors intensified. Roadblocks of burning tyres were erected, stones were pelted at us, and a dedicated member of our team, Cvilizer Aran, was brutally attacked. Once again, ordinary citizens stood firm and overpowered the goons, paving the way for a highly successful and peaceful rally in Sindo. After four more triumphant stops on our way back to Kisumu, we met the ultimate act of cowardice at Kodoyo Junction. The road was deliberately barricaded with a concrete electric pole and massive boulders. Hired militia rained stones on our convoy and hacked two of our team members, who are currently nursing severe injuries at Tranquil Hospital in Homabay. We pray for their quick recovery and demand justice for this heinous act.

It is deeply shameful and hypocritical for Gladys Wanga to masquerade as a leader and a mother while orchestrating the cold blooded slaughter of other mothers' children for political mileage. What is even more telling is that all these violent incidents occurred in the full glare of the police, who stood by as mere bystanders. Now it makes perfect sense why the state withdrew my official security detail just before this trip; they wanted to leave us exposed to harm. But let me be absolutely clear: I will never be cowed into submission. My ultimate security is the millions of Kenyans fighting for their rights.

To William Ruto, I say this clearly: Do not attempt to take my life. Too many Luos have already lost their lives under your watch in unclear, bloody circumstances. I have spent my entire life in the trenches fighting for the democracy and constitutionalism that this nation enjoys today, and Kenya does not deserve this regression into a police state. To the brave people of Homabay, thank you for standing with the truth and for shielding us against oppression. This is just the beginning of our march to freedom.

So once in a while, known and feared top Kanu officials would appear at the hotels intending to meet Raila. His “youth” would reach for weapons, to attack them. Raila would stop them, rebuke them then give everyone a lesson on the Mafia philosophy of sustenance of power.

"Moi is old, but I am young. He knows that in the future, I may become President or an influential long term player in the corridors of power. Even as we fight politically, he has to reach out and engage in back channelling, because he knows I have time on my side, but he doesn't. In future, he or his people may need me".

When NARC took power in 2003, then the Mount Kenya ruling class went full throttle trying to arrest and charge Moi, and take some of his wealth, it was the LDP faction led by Roads Minister Raila Odinga, who declared that no one was going to touch Moi. Five years later, Moi's people rewarded Raila with the presidency and when it was stolen, they killed to try and restore it.

Every time I see what Luos are being subjected to, I remember this lesson. You see, Oburu is going 84. You can dress him in Gucci casuals, throw in ear studs, Sonko-type shiny neck blings, a massive pimpers watch and sag his trousers to the ground while naming him "youth leader", but he will still be 84 and closer to heaven than earth.

Meanwhile, Ruto needs only one more term, so his useful value ends next year. He has run a kleptocracy that makes even his re-election a tall order, and make no mistake, his defeat next year may be so massive that those who hang onto him thinking he will steal elections for them will find the joke is on them.

To stake the Luo community's future on two people whose shelf value will expire so soon is pure madness. It gets even worse. Oburu wants to defend his senate seat while his party chairperson, Gladys Wanga, is defending her gubernatorial seat. The two most senior brodbes ODM officials are chanting "50-50 share" while both seeking county positions.

This tells you the exact problem with this Oburu era. A party leader of a big party should be rising above competitive elective positions and fighting for national positions with other serious party leaders. Can anyone imagine Kalonzo running for Mwingi South MP or Kitui Senator today? Can you envision Rigathi Gachagua going back to Mathira MP or Nyeri Senator?

If a party like ODM has given up the presidency, deputy presidency, Prime Cabinet Secretary, Speaker of the National Assembly, and its leader has settled for a position where he can be suspended or called to order by the Speaker of the Senate, what ambition is left in this party? And why would the party leader and his chairperson announce that they would be defending their current positions a whole fourteen months before the elections? Where will they get the legitimacy to negotiate in the intervening period?

This is why I cast my lot with Sifuna freely and firmly. Because, according to that lesson Raila gave us, Sifuna has time on his side and will either be President or a powerful player in the political structure in this country. He was also loyal to Raila Odinga and in fact learned everything he knows about politics from the enigma.

To ask the Luo to abandon Sifuna for the fumbling one-legged doomed experiment of Oburu and Ruto is to be mad beyond measure.
