I just finished rewatching the semi final match vs inter Milan at,San siro Italy(6-06-2025). All I can say is Barcelona lacks squad depth.Hansi flick didn't have choice he needed a lot of fresh legs on the field but he was left with fermin Lopez, Araujo,Lewa,gavi,h.fort etc.

These players are not direct with the ball. They can't fast transition play. They prefer to hold the ball for so long than shoot or line breaking pass.

Players like bernal,joao cancelo (can't defend to save his life), eric garcia, fermin lopez(prefers to shoot than pass to teammate in better goal position) won't win us shit in European competition.

Barcelona's captains are Ter Stegen, Araújo, and De Jong. None of them has shown the level of accountability expected from a captain at a club like Barcelona.

The first captain knows he's no longer useful to the team, yet instead of accepting a permanent move, he has chosen to stay, go out on loan, and return just to see out his contract.

The second captain is about to enter his third season as a fourth choice defender at 27. Whenever he makes a mistake, he looks for excuses instead of taking responsibility. A player of his age should be leading on the pitch, not sitting on the bench on high wages while refusing to leave.

The third captain has never completed a full season for Barcelona since joining the club. In fact, over the past five seasons, he has never managed to stay on the pitch for four consecutive months. He earns high wages, says he's loyal, but isn't willing to make sacrifices for the club.

A true Barcelona captain leads by example, puts the team first, takes responsibility, and inspires others through actions, not words.

With the excellent work Flick is doing, Barcelona's leadership also needs to change. The captain's armband should go to players with the right mentality, players who inspire their teammates and show the younger generation that wearing the Barcelona shirt means giving everything for the club.

You wonder why Bayern Munich is debt free? Because something like this will never happen with Bayern.

A club like Bayern Munich will call the agent and clearly explain that the player in question won't be playing a single minute.

Then the coaching staff would then explain to the player that he's not in their plans and that the best thing for him is to find playing time elsewhere. That's how a proper club is run.

Barcelona will rather take a loan instead of forcing players to leave and generate income. Then the debt will keep increasing. Incompetent board that are ruining this club will babysit bad players and make them comfortable. No wonder the club is broke.
