There is only one correct side. The side of the consumer.
The consumer that has borne the brunt of double digit inflation, poor policy choices and a state with weak capability.
To suggest that the state take a stance against the consumer, under any guise, is callous.
Ah! Chill with the insults and thank you all insulting me, this is just what read, it’s what the books say.
Not underestimating pain and i know it is subjective.
Mek una no vex, it’s very painful, forgive me. 🤲🏾
If you need evidence that physically hitting children does not work and often even makes them worse, you only need to look at Nigeria, a collectively battered and abused population, where people have become worse, more badly behaved, more violent, less disciplined over time.
The day you people come to terms with the fact that food is made to taste and preference is the day you’ll avoid dropping unnecessary comment on food that wasn’t made for you
Guys please I want everybody to know that it is not a normal occurrence for kidnappers to stroll into schools, kidnap students and teachers and behead the teacher and the leadership of the country is quiet about it, trust me it’s not a normal thing politics aside!
I was having a nap but my friend’s call woke me.
You guys won’t believe he is actually on the same train with Seyi Makinde. Lagos to Ibadan train.
He said he asked Seyi Makinde why he is traveling back to Ibadan this night instead of sleeping in Lagos till tomorrow. Seyi told him he doesn’t have a house in Lagos or anywhere else in Nigeria except Ibadan (his hometown) and it’s waste of money sleeping in hotel or apartment. My friend said Seyi told him he would rather donate that money to charity organizations!
Bruhhhh! Seyi Makinde dey burst my head. ❤️
If your wife is a cheater, confess righteousness out of her.Look at her with tears “Honey,I know what you did,I know it was very very bad,but you are the righteous of God In Christ Jesus, you are a holy woman of God” every time there is darkness, speak light.
My brother why are you shocked as a person who lives in Nigeria? Is pedophilia not everywhere in Nigeria, across regions and religion? Was a popular pedophile who was just released from jail (one of the few who ever go to jail) not boldly on a podcast in Lagos recently? Are men in northern Nigeria not fighting for their rights to marry children under the guise of religion? Is there a month that passes in Nigeria without news of a man or pastor or neighbour or family member raping a child? Does every university and secondary school not have predators hunting for young girls? What of the young men doing NYSC teaching kids?
I can never forget being in Oyo and volunteering to teach English in a secondary school in Iseyin where I discovered that some of the male teachers were having sex with their 13-15 year old students. I overheard a teacher saying that he had paid to get one of the students abortions a few times and that she was a slut. A child.
Unfortunately (and this bothered me) there was nothing I could do legally, as I did not see any of the acts myself. I merely overheard the men who were committing the acts talking and laughing about it.
So yeah, that is what is happening. Muscle memory from living in a country where you can safely be a pedophile.
Of course it’s tongue in cheek, but it’s also true(Except another Nigerian comes to debunk it with actual proof which is very unlikely).
And you can’t go to the Louvre with a camera crew, a chess board and have people wait in a line to play you without getting booted by security. You need permission to do that.
Now whether it’s a big deal or not shouldn’t depend on what an irrelevant racist says. Regardless, the fit is regal and it’s great promotion for chess and culture.
For anyone looking for a healthier substitute to sodium/regular table salt, Potassium enriched salts are!!!
It is great for heart health.
Check for potassium salt substitutes in any supermarket close to you. Hopefully, they’ll become more widely available in local markets soon.
The 176 people kidnapped in Woro, Kwara state in February are still being held by kidnappers. Please we can’t move on. Not when the governor is attending book launches
Very hot take:
This "Mr and Mrs" conversation is very telling on why simple CONSENT is an issue. I can draw a straight line lol.
If you can't respect people's choices on things like this, how then would you understand that NO is NO?
You're stuttering...
Ok.
Bye.
Today marks #WomensDay. Let us renew our commitment to recognize the equal dignity of man and woman. Unfortunately, many women, from childhood onward, are still discriminated against and suffer various forms of violence. My solidarity and prayer go to them in a special way.
We attended a guidance and counseling session at a girls' secondary school.
The principal invited us into her office and warned us never to discuss anything with the girls beyond the purpose of our visit.
We agreed.
In the hall, one girl answered most of the questions—so much so that she was eventually stopped from participating in the quizzes.
I was impressed by her sheer intelligence, so I asked someone who she was.
It turned out she was the Senior Prefect.
That was the only information I sought.
I kept my composure.
Back home, I told my aunt about the girl and how I felt about her. She promised to gather more details for me.
Days passed. Then weeks. Then months.
I kept pressing my aunt for updates.
My feelings only grew stronger.
I found myself constantly reimagining the exact moment I first laid eyes on her—how beautiful she was, and how brilliantly she answered nearly every question.
Then, one evening, while I was at an Indomie junction waiting for my order, my phone rang. I checked and saw it was my younger sister. I hesitated but eventually decided to answer.
She screamed at the top of her voice, "Yaya Abdull, guess what?" I replied, "What?" She said, "We just got the phone number of the SP!"
The way I jumped up, one would think I'd been promised Jannah.
I had to send my sister some money as a token of appreciation.
I left the Indomie spot without eating—I suddenly felt a sense of fullness in my stomach.
I just headed back to class (I was still a student then).
Happy. Fulfilled. Hopeful. All mixed with a hint of dread!
Exactly at 9:00 p.m., I sent her a message that read:
"Assalamu Alaikum. My name is Abdullahi. I am one of the students from UDUS who visited your school some months ago. I was impressed by your performance, and I would like to discuss something important with you. What's the best time for me to call?"
She replied the next morning: "9:00 p.m."
So, I waited patiently. At exactly 9:00 p.m., I placed the call.
She picked up almost immediately.
After exchanging greetings, she asked what important matter I wanted to discuss.
I told her, "I want to marry you."
The response caught her off guard. A long silence followed. I think she even ended the call. I had to call back and reiterate my intentions.
She said she'd have to think about it.
I agreed; she needed time to process my request.
The call took place on Monday, September 24, 2018.
We got married on Friday, March 3, 2023.
On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, we celebrated our third anniversary.
PS: She maintained her brilliance even at university level. She graduated with a First Class Degree.
“How much is it ?”
“Tell them the cost”
“Many cannot afford this price ooooo”
But if they subsidize it now for you, you would say why are they selling it cheaper in Africa and not abroad.
That they want to kill you or make in infertile.
i know poor people are tired of us using them to make a point, poor people are not reading pirated fiction, this is not something you are doing for them so shut up.
