@penrose - Kurt Gödel agreed that mathematical understanding cannot be a computation. It cannot be a manipulation of symbols. It is an inner sense, like eyes on an eidetic landscape. His late work (1961 undelivered lecture) sounds a lot like you. https://t.co/0eebXlw5QJ
... a coherence filter. It does not kill. It does something gentler and, in some ways, more thorough. It quietly rearranges the grounds on which the civilization could recognize its own outside.

@ericweinstein I've made it about 2/3 of the way through Curt's Iceberg, most of that just the audio as I drove for 2 hours. Curt's rigorous treatment is incredibly useful, if you're willing to let it wash over you to start. Far better than an AI tutor. I now understand the scope of the vision.

Here's my conversation with Adam Frank (@adamfrank4), an astrophysicist, all about aliens, alien civilizations, and the search for extraterrestrial life.
It's here on X in full, and is up everywhere else. Links in comment.

This approach emphasizes that all entities, regardless of their scale or nature, behave as if they are agents navigating a complex field of interrelations. https://t.co/Q057bSu3qN
Benchmarks aren't very interesting to me, but skills in science in math has been what I am looking for. o1 boosts are strictly proportional to the time and complexity of the thinking. The challenge is now to ask a really good question. I did this in 2 hours, mix o1 & mini
