@Temple_MSoc It’s the black lives that are being disproportionately murdered, profiled, brutalized and unjustly treated. All people (lives) do matter, but all lives aren’t being treated the same. Until that day comes — someone has to stand for black lives. Will you?
@TempleUOEM@TempleUniv Other concerns are, how will the new protocols be enforced? Hopefully there is a plan.
Today’s bill signing expands on executive action I took in June to create more oversight for law enforcement and update police trainings, especially use-of-force procedures.
This is just a start. We must continue to implement reforms that fight systemic racism and oppression.
Today I’m signing HB 1841 and HB 1910, which require law enforcement officers to have:
✅ Pre-employment background checks
🧠 Mental health evaluations
This is one step toward improving law enforcement to make Pennsylvania safe for everyone.

Wearing a mask in public is essential to stopping the recent increase in #COVID19 cases in Pennsylvania—it's also mandatory.
Do your part to slow the spread of COVID-19 in PA: wear a mask, keep your social distance + wash your hands often.
