@NYCHealthSystem my friend has been at elmhurst hospital for days and no one will help. Patient services goes to voicemail, doctors won’t come back, waiting indefinitely for supervisors - no answers why it’s taking days to get an MRI. we need assistance immediately
@AllThingsGo I finally made it to the front of the queue and then my page froze, took me back to the queue and started me all the way over. I didn’t get to buy tickets before getting booted!!
so on the topic of the 1830s, is it the creation of the railroads, or the opium wars, or the ascent of Queen Victoria that’s got this girl so geeked? I took AP US history and even I can’t find anything remotely interesting about this time period…
people with no experience in entertainment are saying the most factually inaccurate things about how ratings work, how/why shows are renewed and how marketing campaigns work and I want to crawl out of my SKIN!! please stop believing ppl just bc they say things confidently!!
the way this is so unbelievably misleading. complex shows - esp ones with tonal shifts between seasons - need carefully considered marketing plans. marketing teams identify concerns BY DESIGN and then come up with a strategic media plan to best promote the show
I feel bad for the earnest fans who are trying to get their favorite show back meanwhile they are being misled (dare I say taken advantage of) by wanna-be insider crusaders. most of the advice I’m seeing on this app is patently bad, and anyone “on the inside” would know better
Wait… Zaslav sold stock the DAY BEFORE the #OFMD announcement - a signal the company will cancel original content despite great ratings/reviews - which was immediately followed by tons of people publicly canceling their subs?
Seriously, how is that not an @SECGov violation?
everyone loves those gurls that get drunk and tell you how much they love you, but I’ll be stone cold sober and wax on and on about how much I cherish and adore my friends right to your face and ngl… I think I’m doing it right…
Sorry but none of the truly great shows have seasons that are 22 episodes long. You're all really just begging for the return of filler episodes? I don't get it. It's like advocating for pushing TV, as a medium of storytelling, backwards.
@TricksyLiesmith not only is he an EP as well as one of the original creators, but he’s also the most recognizable name attached to the project. fans of the show know everyone else involved but it’s Taika’s name that gets the attention amongst new viewers. people really are just saying words huh
anyways I loved the season finale of our flag means death! at first I didn’t know how the show could move forward from there but now I’m so excited by the possibilities of a third season! The acting and writing were beautifully done and I can’t get that ending out of my head.
@blowupchickens I’m sorry but this is categorically untrue. He was not fired, and he was told about this happening early on and in private which is a generous thing to do as showrunner. Con isn’t allowed to talk about this right now and it’s unfair to him to put words in his mouth about it
@thegoodolddais Love! Imo fan service isn’t inherently good or inherently bad; when it’s done well you’re expanding upon what made your show beloved in the first place; but when done poorly it’s pandering and undermines the integrity of the show. I love how OFMD honored the fans this season!
can’t believe some critics were calling this season of our flag means death “fan service” as if crafting a show that’s a love letter to its fans is inherently a bad thing... #ofmd
It’s beautiful, it’s cathartic. I love Izzy, but this show is not his story. It’s the grand love story between Ed and Stede. It’s OK to be sad your fav character died while also understanding it was for a really beautiful narrative purpose!
David Jenkins is clearly inspired by classic storytelling structure this season - it’s very Hero’s Journey and Ed is our hero. “Death of a mentor” is literally one of the steps in the journey. Izzy’s death wasn’t senseless, it’s a modern take on a very ancient way of storytelling
izzy dying is not the same as him not meaning anything to the plot. his death was VERY meaningful! these characters are surrounded by death, they’ve all seen it and they’ve all caused it. dying to protect his loved ones is perhaps the most meaningful ending he could have #ofmd
