@megantheevalium He’s quite an old man, but a perverse one. Are there ever young guys that are that comfortable and well-considered about their perversity. He “owns it.” Real questions is what would he find at the back of your dresser drawer?
@PaulReynoldsSD@megantheevalium The grave scenes were as funny and freakish as can be. I think I still preferred The Human Stain. I assume you already read that one.
@megantheevalium@PaulReynoldsSD Sabbath’s Theater is dark even for Roth — predominantly concerned with death despite the threads of “freak” woven through it.
@Bogachan_1971 I thought this might be an important signal, however it appears that the best guess is that these were regular investment grade corporate bonds and not necessarily linked to data centers, etc.
@BickerinBrattle C’mon, George. Don’t be silly. Is Cliff Notes not a product? Can you not copyright literary criticism? Much of the academic scholarship in the arts is distillation of l, or a “new take” on, the existing critical literature. They can even sell Lexis Nexis or Westlaw searches.
@MacroEdgeRes “Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is relocating its operations from Farmington Hills, Michigan, to Atlanta, Georgia, as part of a broader corporate move.”

@BickerinBrattle Wrong. Please re-read above. The qualified immunity doctrine has resulted in a situation where the government has indemnified law enforcement in almost all cases. There are a few narrow exceptions to this.
@BickerinBrattle I believe they are shielded from civil suits when performing discretionary functions, unless their actions violate clearly established statutory or constitutional rights that a reasonable person would have known. They are not shielded from criminal prosecutions (I.e., Floyd case)
