This evening, around 5pm, NSCN-K (YA) cadres fired upon an Assam Rifles team engaged in border fencing duties along the Indo–Myanmar border in Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh. One jawan sustained minor injuries.

NSCN-KYA, operating from Myanmar, once claimed to represent Naga aspirations but today it stands exposed as just another violent insurgent outfit.

On 26 March 2026, its cadres attacked an Assam Rifles post in Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh yet were firmly repulsed by alert Indian troops, forcing them to flee.

This is the reality:
Not “freedom fighters” but groups that thrive on violence, intimidation and manipulation of youth.
Such outfits exploit vulnerable youngsters, brainwash them and push them into a life of guns, fear and destruction far removed from any genuine cause.

History shows these groups have also been linked to extortion networks and cross-border insurgent ecosystems, undermining peace in the Northeast.

Let’s be clear:
Violence against your own country and people can NEVER represent any community.
To the youth, don’t fall for propaganda.
Choose progress over guns.
Choose nation-building over destruction.

India’s strength lies in unity, not insurgency.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES DISTRIBUTION OF NGO ITEMS FOR STUDENTS AT ARPS JAIRAMPUR, ARUNACHAL PRADESH
#AssamRifles organised a humanitarian outreach programme at Assam Rifles Public School Jairampur, Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh, to support the educational needs of underprivileged students. During the programme, items donated by various NGOs were distributed to the students to promote education and digital learning. The distribution included story books for the school library, notebooks and clothes for underprivileged children, and five computers for the computer laboratory.

The programme was conducted by the Battalion Chief Medical Officer and aimed at spreading awareness on women’s health, hygiene and overall well-being. The lecture focused on encouraging women to prioritise their health and adopt healthy practices for a better quality of life. Members of ARWWA, teachers of ARPS, Rifle women of the Battalion and local women actively participated in the programme.

ASSAM RIFLES–INDIAN COAST GUARD JOINT BIKE RALLY FLAGGED IN AT PANGSAU PASS, ARUNACHAL PRADESH
Phase II of Samudra se Parvat Tak Joint Bike Rally, organised by the #IndianCoastGuard and #AssamRifles, culminated at Pangsau Pass on 09 February 2026, marking the successful completion of a distinctive outreach initiative symbolising unity, national resolve and seamless integration of India’s maritime and land-based forces. On its final day, proceeded from Jairampur to Higher Secondary School, Nampong on 09 February 2026. The team interacted with students and locals through motivational talks and screening of inspirational films highlighting service, discipline and national commitment. The rally culminated at Pangsau Pass, where it was flagged in by DIG, Assam Rifles. From seas to mountains, the rally continues to strengthen bonds and national resolve.

ASSAM RIFLES AVERTS MAJOR FIRE INCIDENT IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH
#AssamRifles averted a potentially major fire accident in Jairampur town when a medical store caught fire, posing a serious threat to life, property and nearby shops. Displaying quick thinking and alertness, Assam Rifles troops immediately rushed to the spot upon receiving information about the incident. The Quick Reaction Team reached the site with water hoses and firefighting equipment and promptly initiated firefighting operations. Despite challenging conditions, the troops worked swiftly and in a well-coordinated manner, successfully containing and extinguishing the blaze before it could spread further. Their timely intervention saved valuable medical supplies, the building and adjoining establishments and ensured that no casualties were reported.
