@jenrunswithdogs I can do it easily, but I'm also hypermobile so can do all kinds of Weird Joint Stuff. I would have assumed it was genetic like tongue rolling!
@MtrKDJoyce Oh of course! Tbf, the majority of priests implicated in abuse cases here are very much those who would strongly oppose individual confession anyway. But diocesan connections mean those cases are too close to home to feel safe :(
@MtrKDJoyce That is definitely better - individual confession for some reason is extremely uncommon here even amongst Anglo-Catholics so I'm not familiar with it aside from on TV. I've encountered east-facing celebration more than I've encountered a church that regularly offers confession.
@MtrKDJoyce 2/2 but if I was a parent I'm not sure I would want my child in that position, purely from a safeguarding perspective - ie, not because I think an 8yo has nothing to confess. I respect the seal of the confessional but not sure a child can truly consent to the seal's consequences.
@MtrKDJoyce I always feel so conflicted from a safeguarding point of view! Because it has so many actions that would be wholly unacceptable for any other adult who works with children in situations where they are alone with a child. Not that I think confession is bad 1/2
The feast was an epic triumph, celery and leek turnovers garnished with tomato chutney, spring salad with carrots, radishes, celery, watercress, leeks, and scallions, thyme-crusted bread, and woodland trifle with meadowcream.
@areyousurebruv I mean Jesus blesses the eunuchs who would have been actively having sex with their superiors? Jesus tells men to be responsible for their own behaviour, but doesn't tell married people to not have sex or say sex is bad.
@areyousurebruv Like, Jesus not having sex doesn't mean sex is bad for the same reason that Jesus being a carpenter doesn't mean we all have to be carpenters. Jesus didn't tell his married disciples to stop having sex.
@areyousurebruv I mean this seems entirely contrary to the experience of the Church and its teachings? Even the most conservative teachings on sex view it as one of God's good gifts and I think seeing Jesus as anti-sex is really misinterpreting the Gospels.
having to fill my body with fuel at least three times a day is a real inconvenience i have to say. no harm to it but... grow up?? i dont have time for this neediness!!
@areyousurebruv I mean Augustine was just a repressed bisexual who needed to hate himself less π€· I believe in an original stain from the Fall but that's not the same as TULIP, which I do disagree with sorry.
