Good GMs identify which of their top prospects game isn’t gonna translate earlier on while they still have value and include them in packages.
Not as good GMs let their stock completely plummet for 3 years in the AHL when you know it’s not working out.
@jdpowerawards1@PeterTenkrat Maybe they did. Chances are pretty low but they know their goalies. But they overrate them.
They need to focus on building a better roster infront of their goalies. Using your highest pick on a goalie is idiotic imo unless I guess if he turns into Hasek.
Agree to disagree.
Bruins find goalies from literally anywhere and turn them into NHLers. Have their starter locked up longterm. Probably the most secure position on the roster.
So lets use our highest pick in the draft on a Russian goalie no one had ranked there.
@jdpowerawards1@PeterTenkrat Goalie hasnt been a roster hole in like 3 decades and it probably wont be for next 3, they pull them outta their ass.
But the skaters being picked now have the same success rate as the 7th round skaters, then we're good. We'll find some later.
@jdpowerawards1@PeterTenkrat You're proving my point, theyre excellent at developing goaltending, why are we spending that high of draft capital on it.
By the time this kid is ready Sway will still have 3 years left on his deal.
I'm fine picking a goalie but you have way higher concerns.
