@BenjaminGHAZI9@Tufab Are you joking right? I was robbed in South africa broad day light! Screamed pple just watched in the balconies. Others passed near by and just ignored
@WomenofZimbabwe@ukhomeoffice@Julietmartin88 These Children have suffered enough being raised by single parents who went all out to make sure they are fed and https://t.co/NI500z30Sg they are being seperated from those closest parents
@WomenofZimbabwe@ukhomeoffice@Julietmartin88 They say your biological parent is not applying (who has not been in the child life) yet on the visa application a consent from the parent/guardian is required. A step parent as a legal guardian consents and they disregard that
@WomenofZimbabwe@ukhomeoffice@Julietmartin88 Not only to the single mother but to single parents 😭. Even single fathers are denied visas of their children despite showing all evidences that they are the ones responsible for the upbringing
Women of Zimbabwe are challenging the @ukhomeoffice discriminatory decision making refusals for healthcare workers applying for their dependant children to join them in the UK. This is largely affecting Black African single mothers @julietmartin88#BlackAfricanChildrenMatter
@Noxza_dube@tlangimich@AdvoBarryRoux i do not understand why are pple so focused on the stealing part and not on the reason behind it.yes stealing is wrong and the poor woman was punished.but still a child needed help for Goodness sake
We are trying to get her placed. Her story is a story similar to many of other black young people of this country and I think we need to have a change in hearts on how we approach and tackle poverty in our communities. Even the laws of this country seek to rehabilitate and not destroy but I am so shocked at how some of our people are soo dismissive and full of anger towards one another. I am a product of adverse poverty myself, I would never judge nor put more shame on anyone under the same circumstances.
Lulama did acknowledge that she was very wrong for stealing, she cleaned that shop, apologised even to her own children who had to go through a tough time at their school. I thought the tragic story of the mother of three in EC who killer herself and her children because she could not feed them would have enlightened us a bit about how poverty can push us to extreme measures.
Really, it does not kill to be compassionate and empathetic
@tlangimich@Cand_Ziziba@AdvoBarryRoux thanks to our beautiful sister.i am happy Lulama and her daughter got help.her dignity was restored.after such embarrassment some end up actually ending their own life.
If we must choose between a mother who must kill herself and her children because she can not feed them, and a Mother who must steal to fend for her children despite the consequences, I think we should rather deal with the latter💔. We can still through our laws, reprimand, rehabilitate and help the latter mother to realise that her choices were wrong so she can mend them. Than loose soo many lives because we are a hateful nation that can’t afford our own a second chance.
You loose nothing by being kind, compassionate and empathetic.
Poverty strips us of our dignity. We must never be apologetic about salvaging the very little left our people’s dignity because of poverty.
To those who painfully fail to appreciate the link between poverty and crime and the many social ills that continue to define the modern society we live in, I say to you; we can do better than that.
By God’s Grace, We found the young lady. Indeed she was doing it for her 1yr old daughter who had spent a week without diapers. Retrenched from work, and out of frustration fell into the trap and committed a mistake even she, is not proud of. In her own words, she alludes, “But I was also wrong for thinking I can get away with it since I don't know anything about stealing since I got retrench at work thing have been rough”
We will go see her tomorrow🙏🏾❤️✨. If you can provide Nappies, baby clothes or food please do🙏🏾. You can buy her these items if you are around GP will send our team to come and collect as we try to keep a very minimal show up at her place.
One thing clear, kindness is the truest wisdom✨
