Got to see one of my favorite bands of all time last night from the side of the stage! @TriviumOfficial always fucking rips and @matthewkheafy even came up to us on the side to show some love! Best birthday present to myself ever!
@clown_twosie@mitakafan2004 They also say eye-bee-tha when at best it should be EE-BEE-THA they add the lisp and pronounce the rest of the word entirely wrong. They also pronounce the H in herb when it’s a French loan word but give us shit about the way we say croissant 🙄
@Kino_bruh@outsideDAlight@Segah02457547 To be honest I think the people complaining about "localization" and "politics" are a loud minority but you do you. I cannot think of a single instance in where my ability to enjoy a show was hindered by stuff like that. What bothers me is when background text isn't translated
@ura_account55 You used to be able to do this at certain bookstores like Barnes & Noble but I think now they have signs that you can't sit down to read there.
@Celao3939@outsideDAlight@Segah02457547 The other issue is how bad the libraries are, they constantly pull stuff from the library so you might go to see if something is available and its gone from the platform. I forget which anime it is but one of them only has season 4 on CR and the others are no where to be found
@outsideDAlight@Celao3939@Segah02457547 We also used to have the amazon anime sub which they tried to make us pay for on top of having prime and then made it free and funimation which was the only legit competitor for CR that got bought out and still hasn't fully merged.
@Professor_Skol@tuuu28283 I bring back a souvenir every time I travel to a new state whether it's a magnet or local food good. I brought back chocolate, coffee and smoked salmon from Seattle last time I was there.
@tuuu28283 It depends on where but most states just like prefectures in Japan have something they're famous for locally. I was recently in Seattle Washington and they're famous for smoked salmon and other things. You can find locally made goods to bring back. Magnets are always good too
@yanagi_ni_yuki@study_and_goKA To be honest while not as creepy there are still people who love to photograph strangers and upload them to the internet to mock them so I think the shutter sound is needed everywhere
@KKonkitsune@Segah02457547 They are also stuck in a system that has been behaving this way for decades so they might not know any better. They probably hear about the industry and think “that’s just how things are” they’re being exploited and are not to blame. It’s the greedy publishers who are to blame
@KKonkitsune@Segah02457547 I don’t think it’s about being lazy I think they don’t know any better. I bet since Murakami was already big he had more freedom to look into this. Many mangaka struggle weekly to get manuscripts out and their health deteriorates so they have no time to look for alternatives
@Segah02457547 This is something we kept bringing up in the piracy debate but we kept getting told that the profits go directly to the mangaka. We’re not dumb we know that in a system like that it’s unlikely this was true but it kept being repeated so it’s good that someone is being truthful
@nkayoub3 The worst part is when he was asked which hero he was talking about he said The Punisher… everyone is allowed to have an opinion but some peoples opinions are fucking stupid
@Frozen_Frog_8 I tried to collect all of the cards in the 151 set that came out a few years ago but I couldn’t finish because they got to expensive. I was collecting them in Japanese and English and got very close to getting the whole set and then scalpers and resellers ruined it for me :(
@Frozen_Frog_8 If my daughter grows up to love manga then I want her to read all of my favorites. I also have an extensive vinyl record collection that I plan on playing for her to listen to as she grows up as well as a collection of Pokémon cards and other collectibles.
@Frozen_Frog_8 It’s hard to boycott huge corporations because when they raise the prices there are always those who will happily pay. When Netflix stopped the ability to account share people talked about boycotts but the number of subscribers actually went up which allowed them to raise prices
