@ImperialHal I said in the chat - by your standards it feels like an “is what it is” but you guys genuinely went nuts and made the most of terrible situations the last few games to climb up further. Impressive either way.
LAN will be nuts. We all know it.
@KraigLooney It’s the same type of pervasive negativity that plagues sports. You love sports, but you hate everyone?
It’s so easy to go into a game and not look for every flaw. Peeps have this unrealistic, unfounded need for perfectionism. Just enjoy shit.
Medallion's humming... that can only mean one thing! It's time to announce The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past! ⚔️
This brand new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will take you to the Path with Geralt of Rivia once more. It’s being co-developed with @Fools_Theory and is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 in 2027. Stay tuned for more information in late summer. ⏰
@TimSweeneyEpic@BackersGamesF This is not to leech off the horrifying situation - terminal brain cancer is outrageously taxing on every single level concievable. I'm relieved to hear that the insurance has been handled. The point is it's not just people's livelihoods in a monetary sense, it's far beyond that.
@TimSweeneyEpic@BackersGamesF When I was laid off in '23, it wasn't about the money at all. I was actively being treated at Duke for chronic necrotizing pancreatitis, which I've been battling physically, mentally, and financially for the past 9 years. It doesn't matter if this wasn't a factor - it's reality.
@humildeyun22781@evankinney I don't harbor hatred like that - but I will admit that I'm thoroughly confused that such drastic measures are taken against the very people that build your foundations and visions. I'm not in that position, so I don't know what it feels like. Perspective is always important.
I've been off the face of the earth for medical reasons for 2+ years and I honestly planned to ressurect this week - specifically to start searching for work again.
I was laid off in the initial implosion in Sept '23 (which was amazingly not mentioned in the Epic comms today)
@evankinney It's like I almost forgot I existed myself.
Not going to lie, I learned about the layoffs today by your post. I already said it and I'll say it again - I can't think of too many people that were more integral to that company than you. I can't offer much, just love big pop.
Epic at it again. Disheartening to say the least. It’s been an absolute storm the past 2 years since I’ve been laid off and you forcefully learn to ride it out - but it’s still tough to wrap your head around the lack of accountability.
If anyone needs to talk - I’m still alive.
It's enraging for a number of reasons - that the industry still remains this way and that another 1,000 insanely talented people just got dropped into an already competitive environment w/ an unstable economy. Not a great weak to ressurect. Wishin' the best for everyone.
