Healthy goats don’t happen by chance. Good feeding, clean water, proper housing and consistent care all play a role.
These goats are simply enjoying their feed, but there’s a lot behind healthy livestock.
Which matters most to you: feeding, housing or regular care?

Raising chicks will teach you quickly that getting the basics right matters.
1. Brooder temperature matters.
Young chicks need the right temperature to stay comfortable and thrive.
2. Clean water is non-negotiable.
Fresh, clean water should always be available, and drinkers should be checked regularly.
3. Ventilation matters.
Chicks need fresh air, but direct drafts can stress them. Good airflow is the goal.
4. Wet litter is more serious than it looks.
That little wet patch around the drinker can become a bigger problem if ignored. Find the source, replace the wet litter and keep the brooder dry.
5. Watch the chicks, not just the checklist.
Their movement, feeding, drinking and general behaviour can tell you a lot.
Good chick management is about noticing the details before they become bigger problems.
Follow Tentagrow for practical poultry farming tips.

A chick that is not performing well is not always the problem.
Sometimes, the environment is.
Brooder temperature, ventilation, litter condition, access to feed and water, and stocking density can all affect how chicks behave and grow.
Healthy chicks need more than good feed. They need the right conditions to thrive.
Happy new week from Tentagrow.

A flock can look perfectly fine, yet changes may be happening that are easy to miss.
For poultry farmers, daily observation matters. Monitor water intake, droppings and feed consumption. Changes in these can provide useful clues about the condition of the flock and help you know when something needs closer attention.

This is what giving Gumboro vaccine to chicks looks like.
Before their second dose, we withdrew their water for about an hour so they would be thirsty enough to take the vaccine water properly.
The water was mixed with skimmed milk before adding the vaccine to help neutralise chlorine in treated tap water.
Gumboro is a viral disease that attacks the immune system of young chickens, making them more vulnerable to infections. Vaccination and good flock management are key to prevention.

The early days of raising chicks require close attention.
Observe their behaviour, pay attention to their growth and keep proper farm records. These little details can help you spot changes early and make better decisions for your flock.
Good poultry management is not only about what you give your chicks. It is also about what you notice.
Happy New Week

One thing about raising chicks, you have to keep watching them.
This setup gives the chicks different points to access their feed, which helps when you have many birds together.
As they grow, the feeders, their height and the overall setup have to be adjusted too.
What feeding method do you use for your chicks

If you’ve ever raised chicks, you’ll know that a pen like this is never really quiet.
There’s always movement, feeding, drinking and plenty to watch.
With many chicks together, daily observation matters. Their behaviour can tell you a lot about how they are doing.
What do you notice first when you look at a pen of chicks like this?

Poultry farming starts with the little things.
Young chicks need close attention. Feed, clean water, temperature, hygiene and their general behaviour all need to be checked regularly.
Those little checks during brooding can make a big difference as the birds grow.
Happy New Week!

Why weigh a chick when it’s barely a day old?
Its initial weight provides a useful baseline for monitoring growth, keeping records and tracking the flock as it develops.
In poultry production, growth monitoring starts from day one.
Would you have thought weighing a chick this early was important?

Ever wondered why chicks are kept under red lights with several feeding trays around them?
In their early days, chicks need warmth because they can’t regulate their body temperature properly. Multiple feeding trays also make feed more accessible and reduce crowding.
Good brooding starts with getting these basics right.
