Cde Chivayo Mobilises US$1 Million After Presidentโs Directive to Repatriate Stranded Zimbabweansโผ๏ธ
Businessman @wicknellchivayo has announced that, following a courtesy meeting with President Emmerson Mnangagwa after returning from business engagements in Dubai, he was directed to mobilise and donate US$1 million towards the urgent repatriation of Zimbabweans stranded in South Africa.
According to cde Chivayo, the President expressed deep concern over the welfare of citizens stranded at the Zimbabwean Embassy and appealed for their safe return home. Cde Chivayo said he requested 24 hours to mobilise the funds through lawful means and committed to making the money available to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade by 8:00 a.m. the following day.
President Mnangagwa also urged affected Zimbabweans to return home and help build the country under the mantra, โNyika inovakwa nevene vayo.โ Cde Chivayo further called on the business community to support Government-led humanitarian efforts, saying national solidarity is essential to ensuring that no Zimbabwean is left behind
