Is Trump’s presidency over? 🕊️
Democrats just won 54 Senate seats and ~258 in the House.
Their biggest House majority since 1993.
They flipped 7 Senate seats, including Kansas,
which hasn’t elected a Democratic senator in almost 100 years.
So is Trump done?
Short answer: no.
But the Trump of the last 2 years is.
🟥 What Trump keeps
👉 The veto
Whatever Congress passes, he can kill.
Overriding it takes two-thirds in both chambers: ~290
House votes and 67 senators.
Dems don’t have that.
He’s already wearing a red hat that just says “VETO.”
The plan: veto everything until Dems come begging for a deal.
👉 Executive power
Executive orders, tariffs, immigration, foreign policy.
🟦 What he loses
👉 New laws
Republicans can’t pass anything without Democrats.
His domestic agenda is frozen.
👉 Appointments
The Senate can now block his cabinet picks, ambassadors and federal judges.
That’s a big one. Judges stay for life.
👉 Peace and quiet
Dems take over every House committee.
Subpoenas, hearings and investigations don’t need his signature.
Targets: Trump family business deals, the Epstein files, the Iran war.
👉 Impeachment?
The House can impeach him.
Removing him takes 67 senators.
Not happening.
Even Dems are hinting they’d rather go after cabinet members like Hegseth.
💣 The real risk
Budget fights. If neither side folds, expect another government shutdown or debt limit drama.
📕 The lesson
Trump isn’t finished. He just lost the free hand.
For 2 years he could do almost anything.
Now every move costs a fight.
Losing an election doesn’t end you.
Losing the majority turns you from attacker into defender.
And he can’t run again in 2028.
Washington is already thinking about who comes next.
