An incredible scoop here that raises huge red flags about Republican Majority Leader @BrendenJonesNC's conduct here:

After he lied on the House floor to steer a massive state contract to a developer group that sent him campaign cash, @BrendenJonesNC formed a new personal LLC focusing on "property development." (Jones has no background in property development.)

Jones has also been "double dipping" on his state per diem, double charging the state and his campaign for the same expenses. He personally profited about $18,000 in 2025 alone.

@ncspeakerhall needs to begin answering questions about his majority leader's personal integrity.

This is absolutely bonkers: newly uncovered text messages reveal that Republican operatives INSIDE the North Carolina State Board of Elections are secretly collaborating with the NC Republican Party to force local elections officials to obey partisan directives - or be fired.

Republican House Majority Leader @BrendenJonesNC stood on the floor of the North Carolina House of Representatives and lied.

Specifically, Jones claimed that the state ABC Commissioner had asked him to insert a new amendment to a bill that would allow the ABC to pursue a "public-private partnership" to build a big new state liquor warehouse. The plan Jones supported was a half-billion dollar automated warehouse that the state would first pay for, and then lease - not buy - from the developer who built it.

Except, the ABC Commissioner says that isn't true. In fact, the ABC Commissioner supported a different plan - a much less expensive one, which the state would own completely.

It turns out, that developer, and their lobbyists, have shoveled over half a million dollars in campaign contributions to Brenden Jones himself, House Speaker @ncspeakerhall, and other prominent Republican politicians.

All just a big coincidence? 🫤
