Rich couple pays poor woman to carry their child because... presumably a pregnancy would interfere with their schedule? The sleep deprivation and the stress of child rearing can then also be outsourced to a less affluent woman. And liberals sell this to us as female freedom 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Cowboylikesofi If I ran a facility that caters towards potentially immunocompromised children with cancer, I would use every reasonable tool in my arsenal to minimize the likelihood that those kids get exposed to an infectious virus. Vaccination is a quick, easy, and free way of doing that.

This is perfectly reasonable. Unvaccinated people are choosing to put children suffering from cancer, who oftentimes are immunocompromised, at risk. If you choose to put kids with cancer at risk, they can choose to ask you to leave. Actions have consequences.

@Cowboylikesofi It’s true that vaccinated ppl can also transmit the virus. However, there is evidence that suggests that vaccinated ppl are less likely to pass the virus bc they clear the virus faster, have lower levels of virus overall, & have less time with very high levels of virus present.

@sugabelly Exactly! Thank you for saying so. It’s especially outrageous that the father of a child with leukemia won’t get vaccinated. I hope his child makes a full recovery and avoids COVID.

Had their reason for refusal been that the male staff was uncomfortable touching a woman, that would be a different story. However, their reason for refusal was bc they are a woman. We should not be cheering on a man who clearly is only interested in enforcing gender norms.

This is just ridiculous and I believe something we should push back against. This person was clearly denied service because she is a woman and because of a desire to enforce harmful gender norms on this woman.

To insist that salons be kept for women and barbershops be kept for men is to insist that the oppressive construct of gender be maintained. I understand the desire to preserve women-only spaces, but insisting that salons should only be for women ultimately hurts women.
