A secure base is encouragement, support, and delight in who you are as an individual. It’s the “me” part of love, and doesn’t jeopardize the relationship when I have my own interests, goals, perceptions, beliefs and values.
Attachment security is three things:
1) having an attachment figure you can reach out to in moments of distress who provide you with:
2) a safe haven, and
3) a secure base
