I just started re-watching the Ken Burns series, which debuted in 1990 to a record-breaking audience of 40 million, for the first time since it originally aired.

While I had forgotten all of the specifics of the show over the years, I NEVER forgot this letter or this moment, which closed the first episode.

Burns kept a copy of the letter in his wallet for 25 years.

We don’t want strong, independent people who can take care of themselves. We want a society so full of empathy that it destroys itself through open borders, endless welfare, wealth redistribution, and total dependence on The Party.

This is how we win. The more empathy we push, the more power we gain.

Did you know C.S. Lewis predicted the modern obsession with “being nice” would destroy the soul?

In The Abolition of Man, Lewis argues that when a society stops believing in objective virtue, it doesn’t become tolerant… it becomes manipulable.

He calls the result “men without chests.”

People with appetites and intellects, but no courage, no honor, no trained moral instincts. They can calculate everything and defend nothing.

Lewis saw that once we reject inherited moral law, we don’t become free. We become raw material… easily shaped by propaganda, pleasure, and fear.

Modern man prides himself on compassion while quietly surrendering every standard that once gave compassion meaning.

Lewis’s insight is brutal: a civilization that educates clever cowards will eventually be ruled by tyrants or technicians.

Because when nothing is worth dying for, everything becomes negotiable… including human dignity.

Pastor @ErikReed boldly putting an end to the "both sides" arguments we've seen from many Christians over the last few weeks and calling out the Democrats for being at war with "creational reality."

"We are living in a world where there are two different visions for what kind of society we want to live in.

And if you're more concerned with what I've just said in the last two or three minutes, about sounding partisan, than you are concerned about the reality of what's actually happening in our society right now, you have lost the plot."
