The Palestinian Prisoners' Media Office reported a serious deterioration in the health of detained physician Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, who suffers from heart disease, hypertension, and injuries sustained during repeated assaults in Israeli prisons.

According to the office, Dr. Abu Safiya suffered rib fractures after being violently assaulted inside Rakevet Prison. It added that July 27, 2026, was the most difficult day since his detention, after he was subjected to torture and severe beatings.

The office also said he spent 21 days in solitary confinement under harsh conditions that further worsened his physical and psychological condition.
