@RosieRocks28 Read where it said this pipeline is 90% built, most of which is part of Keystone Biden cancelled. This was brought up last year by Carney with Trump. Nice to see the 2 countries can still do something together.
@cbcwatcher What a ridiculous speech. The reality is that the USA only wants to take advantage of Canada, no intent to actually negotiate, all they want is to dictate...... He lost all credibility when he starting talking about who the grown ups are in the room......
@jamiljivani This is wrong, as a life long Conservative it is embarrassing. The current government or their assigned reps should be meeting with US government to discuss trade. If you think you can help, then offer your services to government, no one appreciates the show boating
@CaseyHo46088134@DThilleYWG@FoodProfessor Trade does not work that way. Even if goods come to Canada first from China they still get declared as Made in China going into the USA where they must clear US Customs. No different than if shipped directly from China. Once again facts matter.
@GZiebinski @ThomasHall17 LOL,,,,,,I like Alberta people but you have enough NDP supporers to elect an NDP government 10 years ago.....not consistent with description above......
@AndreaGal67@CTVNews This is not the way trade works, product crossing the USA/Canada border is still subject to tariffs based upon Country of origin. So even if Chinese goods go through Canada they still get charged Chinese duty rates. This is no different than goods going directly from China to USA

@atrupar I look at the 50% tariffs on steel/aluminum, does this mean the US steel companies are really that inefficient that they need that large of a tariff. The answer is no, so what happens is domestic producers get a monopoly and just charge more, thereby profiting more.
@neilmalhotra People can not afford homes, yes the 1/3 of the cost going to governments is a big part of it part of it, but so is the expectation that everyone needs a 2000+ sq.ft. home, In 1980 new home size averaged 1,300 sq.ft., now is over 2,300.. Families had 2.7 kids in 1980, .95 now...
@SabrinaMaddeaux In 1980 average size of house built was 1,317 sq,ft,, now is 2,383 sq.ft. yet # kids per family has fallen to .95 from 2.7, smaller families and much bigger houses. Peoples expectations are well beyond what they need to be. Build smaller homes (not apartments!) would help.
