The 263 missed felony deadline cases in 2024 including murder suspects would not have happened without the cooperation of the collection of judges that Jose Garza and Trudy Strassburger control with their standing order. 9 Travis County judges signed a standing order in 2021 from the DA that acts as a “release card” for criminals to be released from custody no questions asked. This is the reason our streets are overrun with homeless vagrants with 10+ felonies and zero convictions.
