There was a guy in my office, the smartest person on the entire floor. Everyone knew it. He trained almost every new employee.

Last year a management position opened. Everyone assumed he would get it. Instead they promoted the CEO’s nephew. The nephew was 24 and had been with the company for 7 months. He couldn’t even do half the job.

Guess who was assigned to train him? The same man they had passed over. He trained his own boss.

For 11 months he smiled and did it. Then one Friday afternoon he resigned.
