to be fair, an argument could be made that ff14 IS ff11's remake. not because it's an actual remake of ff11, but because ff14 shamelessly copies 80% of ff11's overarching lore

i love chains to death but everything in chapter 8 just gives me a headache. i hope if ff11 ever gets a remake they do a vast rewrite of chains cuz the way it is now it feels like i need a doctorate to fully understand it

i think what gets me the most is that keeper of the apocalypse is a loose term that changes meaning multiple times within the story, and in chapter 8 they start using it to refer to promathia himself(?), and it makes that part of the story very hard to follow for me
