NEWS: Elon Musk and his DOGE bros have ordered GSA to sell off the site of the historic Freedom Riders Museum in Montgomery.
This is outrageous and we will not let it stand! I am demanding an immediate reversal. Our civil rights history is not for sale! https://t.co/zCpPkQYNc2
My photo of Alex Chilton, born on this day 1950, taken at the Mean Fiddler after his 16th October 1985 show, talking to Epic Soundtracks for my fanzine, What A Nice Way To Turn 17.
A line from the interview opened Holly George-Warren’s Alex biography, “A Man Called Destruction”.
#Groucho: It's all right. That's in every contract. That's what they call a sanity clause. #Chico: Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! You can't fool me. There ain't no SanityClause. #ANightAtTheOpera#MerryChristmasEve
Iggy Pop explaining the influences behind the Stooges classic ‘No Fun’. Some Johnny Cash, some Stones, a bit of the Velvets, and a whole lot of moody magic.
Clearly digging his own music. Even he knows it’s great.

“Jazz shouldn't have any mandates. Jazz is not supposed to be something that's required to sound like jazz. For me, the word 'jazz' means, 'I dare you.'”

“At home in California I used to play, and the birds always used to whistle with me. I would stop what I was working on and play with the birds.”

November 25 1967 - "Incense and Peppermints" by The Strawberry Alarm Clock hits the top of the Billboard Pop chart. The recording was initially intended as a B-side and the lead vocal is actually that of a friend of the band, 16-year-old Greg Munford, who was just hanging around during the session. Munford was not even a regular band member, but ended up singing a tune that would become a Rock And Roll standard and sell over a million copies. Greg went on to earn a BA in music theory and composition from the University of Southern California, and do graduate work in musicology at the University of Chicago specializing in analytic criticism. He then began a career in advertising as a creative at Marstellar, Chicago and went on to open his own ad/fundraising agency in Washington DC
We're one week out from the release of Wussy's incredible new LP "Cincinnati Ohio", an epic act of grief, consolation, compassion, hilarity and hope which could not arrive at a more welcome time. Plus the tunes are fucking awesome and catchy as hell. My favorite people and band.
I need one final push to defeat Marjorie Taylor Greene.
She doesn't want people in Georgia to know that she's about to lose.
